When people complain about actual PEOPLE getting subsidies and say NOTHING about the BILLIONS of dollars in subsidies GIVEN away to Oil Companies and companies like Monsanto, it makes me shake my head. Where were you when all this corporate welfare is being handed out? You are aware that we (you, I and everyone in this forum) gave Exxon/Mobil a 153 Million dollar check last year right?

They don't receive welfare. They don't show up at the welfare office to collect a check. Your logic is REALLY faulty here. Assume no tax deductions at all and they pay 99% in tax. You'd be whining they get a 1% "subsidy." The reality is they are paying the tax they owe.

The Feds buy a portion of heating oil for the poor. Do away with it! Indirect? The govt. builds roads so people can buy oil product and drive on them. We don't need roads. The military patrols part of the seas to prevent pirates from seizing control of oil tankers. Let the pirates have their fill! Meanwhile, it looks like the actual amount of checks written by the govt. to clean up the Solyndra mess is over $800M.
