Wright has been in the league for 8 years, he is what he is. He's basically earning minimum wage for a player his age, so that shows you what the rest of the NBA thinks of him.
Crabbe seems to me a carbon copy of Wright. But Wright has experience and Crabbe doesn't. You would probably get a lot more mistakes out of Crabbe. I would like to see him get some burn but not if it cost us wins. I'm with the others that said if we lost a few and Wright is obviously sucking then give Crabbe a shot. Otherwise I would stick with Wright. I'm actually a little suprised Will Barton hasn't played. I would like to see what a Mo/Barton back court can do. It seems like Stotts has no faith in him.
I second this. And, as Wright isn't shooting all that well, Claver can't be that much worse. And Claver actually shot very well from three in Spain.
These types of threads are dumb. It's as if games are the only time a coach gets to see his players skills, strengths and weaknesses and has to use that to make a decision about their playing time. Stotts has a lot more information than we do to make this decision. Posters calling for giving Crabbe 4 minutes per game just want the chance to play internet coach and act like the Blazers owe them the opportunity to see Crabbe play so they can make the decision about how much playing time he should get. If you are so bored with this team that you need to see Crabbe play 4 minutes per game to give yourself something to discuss, go ask if you can attend a couple practices.
No, this type of post is dumb. This is a forum where fans discuss the specifics of everything blazers. If one player is playing subpar, it's completely normal to discuss possible solutions. If a draftee is not seeing any playing time, it's expected that fans will discuss this. Otherwise if we take your logic, there isn't anything to ever question because obviously the coaches have more info, are experts and have final say. Can't talk about Mo getting too many minutes, that's Stotts purview. Can't talk about match ups, defensive assignments, because we don't have 100% of the information. Denny, close this forum down, it turns out threads about anything team related aside from smily emoticons is dumb. Bull-fucking-shit.
If you think that is "my logic", you don't follow logic very well. This is ridiculous. There are plenty of things to discuss based on what we can see. If you can't tell the difference between intelligent basketball discussion and guess-and-check, fantasy-league internet coach, baseless suggestions, I don't know what to tell you. Instead you want to have threads like this one which amount to: Hey guys, one of our guys that plays 12 mpg isn't shooting well. Should we give his minutes to a player none of you have ever seen play? His name is John. Yeah! Great idea! We should give him 4 mpg and see what happens. Surely it will turn around our bench production.
Now 4/4. Let's hope this is his "breakout" game! And let's hope Crabbe gets some minutes tonight, too!
Like I said, get a blow out game like 111 points in 3 quarters and you get to see Crabbe get some minutes.
read your post, I followed the logic. If you meant something different, then write something different. If it were just me who mistook the logic in your post I doubt I would have been repped. No issue though, we can move on. good thing you're here to tell us which topics are dumb. I actually agree with your comment from a basketball perspective (as expressed in an earlier post), a small dip in a bench players fg% is nothing to read too much into due to small sample size. Plus, messing with a winning rotation might be far more detrimental than riding out the weak play. But, this topic is interesting to discuss. There are reasons why someone might disagree with me. Also, the last time we saw crabbe he played very well, so it's a fun topic to broach. My problem with your original post, just gave a general "dumb" label in an egotistical post when there were obviously many people who were participating in the conversation. There are plenty of threads on topics that bore me. I skip those threads, not read four pages of replies just to make a snide comment. Anyway, blazers are up 114 to 81 at the moment, I'm going to pay attention to the game. We can both agree this team is far more entertaining than our squabbling.
Bump By the way, wright won player of the game and shot 5 for 5 from 3pt land just showing how quickly shooters can get on track. Bump
