Why does Stotts refuse to coach and stress defense?

Condolences. I'm from Dallas originally and I'm not a fan. A&M plays better D than the Cowboys.

22 wins and 5 losses, uh...that's hardly refusing to coach! This is a great season and blah blah away but it's not sucking the joy out of my pre April joy. I love this team and they were going to lose a game at some point here, it happened tonight.

4 games in 5 nights! On the road! When we're getting everybody's best shot! Detroit is above average! Cleveland is above average at home! And we came back from a 32 pt defecit to bring if to single digits! Pardon my shouting! We are not going to win 70!

Completely agreed. For me it's more HOW they lost then THAT they lost. Continued poor bench play and a layup drill to the basket. In most cases the Blazers have been able to shoot themselves clear of those deficiencies but tonight they couldn't. Even when they do, it doesn't mean there aren't things that need to be addressed if they are going to make noise when the games really count.

It's about how we lost and how we continue to play defense. Throw the record out the window, has nothing to do with what I'm saying. How some of you can't see that and just want to homer it up is amazing.

How someone can only watch one quarter of a game and give up on a team is amazing to me.

It's been frustrating for me. But I think he does stress it and wants to see it. He's pretty passionate and animated on the sideline not to be. But he and his staff may only have some in the way of answers on that end.

Adelman before going into this game tonight knew exactly what their weaknesses were and he didnt waste anytime exposing that.

Stotts is an offensive coach and has done an amazing job compared to the days of Nate. Now hopefully they can improve the D or bring in a Defensive Assistant that can ramp up their effectiveness.

Blazers now 6-5 (?) against teams over .500. Schedule gets tougher soon.

Over .500? Yet Minny is not. They ARE 500. And started below, so I don't know.

3 playoff teams? Cleveland and Minnesota aren't playoff teams. Detroit probably is.

Right... .500 and over. Wins against the Nuggets, Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Suns, OKC and Pacers. Losses to Suns (x2), Rockets, Mavs and Wolves. So 7-5 against .500 and above. 15-0 against below .500 teams....killing it there. They get the Clips and Heat at home, then at OKC and in January @ Spurs, Mavs, Thunder and Rockets before a game @ Warriors.

If they come close to keeping up this pace after that swing, they are seriously legit. It will be their first stretch of games against over .500 teams.

I agree with Detroit... but, I dunno... if Cleveland can figure out a way to get a win on the road and get a better player SF than Gee, I think they can make noise. It is the East, after all.

Well, I guess then we didn't tarnish our under .500 record, even though they started out below it. lol.
