either he starts producing or he should be bought out. Seriously, this guy better start playing like an "elite" player. He does shit for this team, does not step up. Why pay him a ton of money to party in NYC and play half azz on the ice. Buy him out of hes gonna play like shit

Nothing like the 2011-2012 team, Sather and is old fuk azz ruined this team by not signing back prust and trading the 2 home grown guys for Nash who is a loser

The 2 home grown guys would go into stretches where they did nothing for 20 games. However, I do agree that Nash is absolutely killing this team. He has cost us 7 to 8 games this season with his crap play.

Plus, you don't buy Nash out you clown. That is moronic. You trade him. He would still bring back a ton. If Montreal wants to trade Pacioretty for him, at this point I would consider it.

I am not sure coming off 2 concussions with a cap hit of almost $8m that Nash brings back a ton.

He has 2 goals in December and 5 points in 12 games. That is terrible. This team is just so frustrating to watch as a fan. I know the supporting cast isn't really there and there are tons of holes that can be fixed but if your TOP guys are going to play like pussies this team really has no shot. For this team to do anything over the next few years guys like Nash have to be great and I just don't see it happening. If we were losing and Nash was the beast he should be I would be a lot more optimistic about next year and beyond.

He's still Rick Nash. A slump doesn't change that. That is what Rangers fans constantly forget. When a Rangers player hits a slump, they think his value just goes to nothing. Doesn't work like that. A couple of good games and idiot scouts start to get excited again. Scouts are no better than fans sometimes. It just depends what games they see a player, play.

I do agree with that comment Dump and you are right, they look big picture not the last month. But the problem is the concussions. He just doesn't really go into the dirty areas anymore. If he is in front of the net he is diving on the ice now. He also doesn't seem to attack defensemen on the rush either. I hope its just a slump but I am starting to wonder if the hit Lucic gave him last year started this. He was absolutely horrendous in the playoffs. He has been terrible in December after missing most of November. Will see how it plays out but it doesn't look good.

Without Rick Nash playing well the mini rebuild is not going to work.

With Nash having his head up his ass, I stand by how critical it is to trade Girardi, Callahan, Brassard and Boyle for as many prospects and picks as they can get. They need to get back at least 3, high quality players from the picks or prospects in those deals to make up for the injuries of Nash, Staal and Sauer.

They might as well at this point. They also might as well just shut Nash down too, he clearly isn't healthy or is at least afraid of getting hit. As you said, a guy like that is just not very effective playing on the perimeter

Nash has 7 goals in his last 34 games. That is simply amazing. This started in the playoffs last season, not when he came back this season. I think you guys are right though. He never goes in front. You never see him bull to the net and use his size. He has become a soft wing player. He is playing not to take the big hit and get concussed again, and you cannot do that. If he is going to play this way his career will be "over" in terms of being a big time elite player.

And no way you buy him out. First you deal him for something before you buy him out. Although his value is not what it was when we dealt for him he would get us something back. Second we only have one buyout left, and that has Brad Richards name all over it.

We can do whatever we want this summer. Sign guys. Trade for guys. If Nash plays like a soft winger with a 7.8 mill cap hit, we are F'd no matter what. We need him to play like Rick Nash or we are screwed.

Right now he looks like he's just going through the motions, trying to play as many years in the league as he can to get paid. If I was the coach, I'd scratch him and tell him to let me know when he wants to play his game again, then I'd dress him.

And I agree with you guys. We finish this trip at 1-4 maybe you do sit Nash and let him rest and clear his head. I am sure he is going to say he is fine, but his play says something totally different. I doubt it is physical at this point, this is mental IMO. That is what makes it difficult. Either he gets over it or not. Rest maybe could help because he can step away and watch for a while, maybe that will get him going again, but it needs to click in his head or it will never change. The guy is the spin king now. Never goes hard, always spins softly. Sad to see.

Right on Struds. 100% right. This isn't just a slump for Nash. This is how he plays. I told you guys before the trade he never goes into the dirty areas. He only used his strength in front of the net. For the most part when he was a Jacket, he hung at the blue line, let others do all the work, and did nothing by try to score goals. Like ARod on Texas. A loser team, he swung for the fences with every swing because that's all he had to play for. It amazed me how everyone was mesmerized was by Nash's 40 goals 5 years ago. I knew this trade was a disaster from the start.

AV needs to get the balls to scratch him. Enough with the hands off approach!

NYR1962...I fully agree with your assessment. And this is why Sather
must go. He has no vision for the NY Rangers. He's been shakin & bakin
since he came here. Never producing a full 4 line team in his 15 years here. He continues to rid home grown players for flops.
He's turned out to be a sham. And again the Rangers have no upward direction. They are stuck again.

Thanks cagedlion. I'm totally with you on Sather and the direction of the team, I mean lack of. I hated Sather for so long, then had to give him credit when he finally built a team, mostly from within. Probably why I'm so disappointed he dismantled it so quickly. My hatred for this man has come all the way back. We once again have a boring, rudderless ship with no identity.
