My resolutions & hopes for the new year...............

To get away from that other ass-dragging thread lets move on to more positive things....

At the end of the 2012 year my resolutions were #1 that I could lose 25 pounds & #2 that I could go the entire year without spending any time in the hospital or at least go without getting any type of surgery. (Something I was unable to do for the last 15 years).

Well #2 just didn't happen (medically it was one of my worst years). BUT.....I was able to keep my #1 resolution as I lost a total of 42 pounds during the year.

Now this year my #1 is to lose another 20 pounds then I'll be happy & #2 is the same same as last year. God willing.

As far as my hopes & wishes I'm hoping the rap era finally comes to an end & future artists learn the art & talent of actually SINGING. And that we hear little or nothing from idiots like, Linsey Lohan, The Kardashians, Kanye West, Rianna, The tongue hanging slut looking bitch Miley Cyrus, The big mouth Alec Baldwin, Lady Gaga's lack of fashion style & of course our own lying prick Alex Rodriquez.

    Okay how about you guys???????????

i too am looking to drop some significant weight and will be finding out shortly whether i will have to go under the knife for bulging discs that have made life miserable. i am hoping to coach my son's 11 year old football team to back to back championships and have a goal of making this year the best tax season for my new firm.

As someone who's had more back surgeries than I have fingers with one major one requiring the removal of 11 of my discs, if you can avoid surgery & live with the pain do it. Or maybe just losing weight will relieve much of the pain. Whatever you choose to do good luck & just take it easy. As far as your other goals, I hope they're all accomplished.

I have had back surgery during the Atlanta Olympics and know the struggles of having a disc removed and another fused
..not fun..but right now I can't push off with my left leg. The never runs over my quad and feels like its pulling the muscles off the bone.

...I got lucky. I ruptured a disc between S1 and L5 about 10-12 years ago...I think it was the worst pain I've ever experienced...my back never really hurt but the rupture pressed against the sciatic nerve of my left leg. Though the though of surgery did not appeal to me, I was hurting so bad that I was ready to let a 3rd grader with a butter knife open me up...just make the pain go away.
...instead, the doctor gave me an epidural with some sort of steroid...(yes, I'm a PEDs user...but "never tested positive") Anyway, about 2 days later the pain was gone.
...but even now, though I still work out every day, I am still VERY conscious of how I use my back...I would not wish a back injury on my worst enemy.

Yeah its not fun. After one of my major surgeries a posterior & exterior multi-level lumbar dissectomy (forgive the spelling) I was in a hospital bed set up in my living room for 6 months. I literally had to learn how to walk all over again & at one point I had 67 pieces of metal in my back holding my spine together. Like I said......Not fun.

I highly doubt that.... two young boys and a 3rd child on the way, so I highly doubt that she'll be leaving me and I know I won't be leaving her... I need to loose the weight from my belly...

lol... yeah... she's been so incredibly sick during her pregnancy (as she was with both our boys) with something called Hyperemesis gravidarum...

imagine extreme morning sickness that never goes away... and is on crack... I mean non-stop nausea and vomitting...

with our first, she had LOST 45 lbs when she checked into the hospital for delivery at 37 weeks (3 weeks early) due to pre-eclampsia... add to that the weight of the 3 week early baby at 7.5 lbs and all the blood/placenta she lost it was close to 60 lbs she lost... and was vomitting DURING delivery... During the entire pregnancy (excluding the final admittance for delivery) she was admitted to the ER 4 times for massive dehydration and received 2 Liters of fluids each time.

it was a little better with #2 as she only lost 30 lbs (plus the 10lb 10oz baby and over 2 liters of blood from the botched c-section)... 2 times in the ER with dehydration and needing 2 Liters of fluids each time

she is 15 weeks in and is already down 15 lbs... already been to the ER once... looking like we aren't far away from needing another trip...

    I feel horrible for her...

I'll tell you what though... they are expecting a scheduled c-section and is planning on having her tubes tied... I might go ahead and get snipped though anyway as an extra precaution...

We don't know yet... we don't even know if we are going to find out... we didn't find out with either of our boys... We would prefer another boy, but as long as it's healthy, we don't care

...simplest way to lose weight is to cut down on portion size and cut WAY down on the carbs...nothing white. (sugar, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta)...everything else is OK...do that for a week or two and I guarantee you'll lose weight.

I cut out ALL sugar & Salt. Also went to 1% milk, & whole wheat bread & pasta. Also my snacks now consist of chopped up Carrots & Celery.

I cut most processed carbs out... it's the pasta that mostly gets me...
