Yes, I know he was, and I actually agree with him there. It's obvious he made it on what he's done for them in the past, but making the go root for CBJ comment was a poke at those of us who were not in favor of him coming here, especially those of us who have defended Dubi. I am clearly #1 or #2 on that list. Not a problem though. Just thought it deserved a response.

I actually agree with you Dis. He is very skilled, should play much better, and could play much better. Where you are wrong is that I've never written him off. I was against the trade originally for all the reasons I stated in the past, and I've seen nothing since he's come to make me feel me different or wrong in any way. Simply put, he is a goal scorer. If he's not scoring, he does nothing else. He is not a leader, doesn't like the dirty areas, isn't great on d, and doesn't appear to have much fire in the gut. I said appear. None of us really know. As far as last year, he wasn't great. He was good but inconsistent. Had some hot streaks then disappeared for stretches. Had 3 game winners. He had a few games where he dominated the game, but when we needed 1 win out of the last 3 games to get in, you didn't know he was on the ice. I never denied his skill, just said he wasn't a great all around player like a Crosby, Toews, Datsyuk, some others, worthy of changing the essence of the team. Different style but similar to Gabby. Goal scorer who does little else. Where am I wrong? Please tell me.

I think Nash will be great in the olympics also as he's been resting up and getting ready for a while now. :devilwink:

Here is what I know - Nash scored more than half his goals in the 3rd period last year including 9 goals in April when they were fighting for a playoff spot. You can bash him all you want for his playoff performance but try watching the regular season games without your Blue Jacket blinders on. Nash had a great regular season last year. He scored 21 goals in half a season playing with Derek Stepan who is a solid #2 center but hardly a great playmaker.

Bash him for playing like a puss after his 2nd concussion. Bash him for playing like a girl in the playoffs. But last years regular season we have nothing to complain about. He went into the dirty areas AND he produced goals, and goals that mattered.

The jury is out on the trade still as Nash has been disapointing since the playoffs started last year but try to have some objectivity with him.

As far as the Olympics go, anyone who doesnt understand why he is on the loaded Canada roster hasnt been paying attention to international competition the past decade. Yes that means you Cage

Dis shouldn't fall for Caged's (aka Eyeshaveit) antics since he's the most miserable "fan" you can come across on a message board. Full of whining about everything.

Well, I think what I said, he has had hot streaks, he's a scorer, he dominated some games, shows some objectivity. Blind yourself that I said those things all you want. My defense of Dubi or watching CBJ has zero to do with how Nash plays here. Nice dig. Good job Bob. I know Nash lovers want to make a big deal about his 3rd period goals, but instead of looking simplistically at a stat, try looking a little deeper. How many of those goals won or tied games, how many came when the game was out of reach, how many were really good plays or a lucky bounce that might have hit him in the ass and happened to go the right way. Did he cost us any goals by leaving his man alone in front? Where was he when he we needed him the most, meaning crunch time, or against playoff competition, not say a weak Islander team. There is something in between complaining about his regular season and gushing about it. My opinion is that his regular season was good, maybe very good, certainly not great. I think he's a good to very good player. You think he's unbelievable. So we disagree. Great. I'm still waiting for your answer on what he does for us if he isn't scoring goals.

Ok lets agree he was very good last year regular season. I can agree with that.

10th in regular season in goals scored. Very good season. Now he needs to pick up his game this year.
