I put this trade in to the trade machine and it was successful. I am not sure if the grizzlies would agree but I tried several other versions of the trade to make it more balanced for all teams involved but I kept going over the salary cap. If you have some additions or subtractions to make it better feel free to post but also tell me if the trade works for you or not. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lrf9sgx
Great trade for the Raptors, bad trade for everyone else. You do understand that Lowry would be a rental, right? He's gonna want to get paid next year.
I think that wins projection stat is based on how those players affected their current teams win/loss percentage and doesn't accurately calculate what it would be with their new team despite that it claims to. You don't think a bench of Lowry, Pondexter, McCollum, Freeland, T-Rob and Leonard isn't better then what it is now? I do. Also wins and losses are determined when your starters/best bench players are on the floor in crunch time in the 4th quarter and blazers have better players in their at that time then Memphis or Toronto.
Well as I said I tried several other trades and they failed this was the one that worked. What would you do to balance it out? I'm open to suggestions I'm not one those people who gets offended at people who don't like my trade ideas so feel free to help me out. As for Lowry, yes I know he a "rental" and will probably want to be paid but my feeling is he also wants to win and being on a winning team I'm hoping might outweigh "getting paid."
I put this trade in to the trade machine and it was successful. I am not sure if the Heat or OKC would agree but I tried several other versions of the trade to make it more balanced for all teams involved but I kept going into the luxury tax. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kerhtct (link) I put this drawing into Microsoft Paint and it was successful. I'm not sure if Blazer fans or anyone would agree but I tried several other versions of the picture to make it more balanced for all fans involved but I keep going over the same lines.
Why are you mocking me? I clearly explained that I tried several other variations before this and also opened it up to suggestions to make it better. Sorry I'm not a master at constructing trades as good as you. MY BAD O TRADE MASTER.: Edit: I just saw your "trade" and you're a real smartass. LeBron and Durant don't compare to Lowry and Pondexter and for you to compare them as equal makes you a troll.
I'm am definitely not mocking you. Sorry if you felt I was. And I'm glad you expressed how you felt about my Post rather than resorting to a vulgar, personal insult. So thanks for that. No need to apologize, even if in jest, I was mocking the trade. It's definitely a "fantasy" trade in my opinion because the key to posting a good trade includes an explanation of how it helps all teams involved AND why all teams would participate. And I admit, I'm also bias when I see an E-SPiN trade machine post because far too many proposals fail to do so, as your's failed to do. The reason Portland would do a trade seems to be the only thing people talk about when proposing this stuff. For the purposes of discussion, explain why you believe Memp AND Toronto would participate in this trade and how it helps all the teams involved, AND why those other 2 teams would do this. It's more difficult for anyone to poke fun at any trade when you include all these factors and reasoning in your proposal.
I didn't provide an explanation because I wouldn't know how to explain it and don't want to pretend like I do. I just basically picked the players their teams would likely offer up in a trade. To be honest I was hoping someone with more knowledge about this then me would offer a suggestion or explain why or why not the original trade works so I could learn from them why the trade makes sense and make better trade proposals in the future while eventually being able to make logical explanations for them. I have several more trade proposals I would like to post but I am a little hesitant now because I don't want to be ripped apart like this one: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mbgs9jb I think this one is a lot more balanced for all teams involved but again I couldn't tell you why the teams would participate in the trade. If you know of another site that has a trade machine like espn please let me know.
The problem with that is we don't have a backup PG if that goes down. I like getting Sanders but I just don't see MIL parting with him either.
OK. So, since you didn't see the humor in my response and gave a serious answer, I've gotta ask a serious question, what was the purpose of proposing the trade in the first place? I would hope you could see the context of where I am coming from, that these "trade threads" are fairly common place on forums, and that when you propose a trade, you're making an argument. You proposed a trade without any support or rational behind doing so. Is it really surprising, or disheartening, or insulting, that someone would poke fun at an incomplete, and thus poor, argument? I would also hope you would accept the context that there is a segment of Blazer fans that genuinely like the Blazers, the Blazer players, and don't appreciate what is an aggregated, large number of trade proposals to get rid of Blazer players on a team which has not experience this quality of basketball play and chemistry in more than 2 decades. Making it all that more imperative in this medium to make a strong argument with your reason and support for why you are proposing to get rid of one, or more, beloved Blazer players - and the context that this team is the 3rd best team in the NBA pacing for the largest season-to-season win increase in franchise history. It depend on how being "ripped apart" makes you feel. Do you feel attacked personally or humiliated? I do not want you to feel that way, but I won't tell you how you should feel. I would hope you could accept that me poking fun at an argument, or out right attacking it because I disagree, is not an indictment of you as an individual, intellectually or otherwise, unless you want it to be. On the contrary, if I were to type that you have a "superiority complex", or I asked "wtf is wrong with you...", that would be and indictment of you as a person. While I would discourage you from posting random trades with an incomplete argument, and without a well reasoned explanation, I would not do so as a means to suggest you are not allowed, or are too stupid to be posting your opinion or argument - good or bad. The entire purpose of this forum, aside from making Denny Crain a millionaire, is to provide a means for Blazer fans to express their opinions and discuss. Part of that includes humor, sarcasm, passionate feelings, ect. It's not that you should grow thick skin, it's that you should allow yourself to separate your opinion from who you are as a person, because I do. (Until some idiot calls you a fa##%t, or me a bitch. Then you can PM me and well feed them their own rasin nuts through a feeding tube.) [Aside: Why didn't she censor bitch you ask? Same reason African Americans can say the N word and I can't.) Don't be discouraged, but understand I will make fun of bad or poorly reasoned trade proposals because I like my Blazer players as they are until Olshey lets me know otherwise that they are no longer Blazers. Then again, I have to ask why propose it? And why would you feel bad if someone poked fun at it for not having a purpose, or being a poorly formed argument? It's not intended for you to take it personal, but again, I'm sorry if you did. This explanation is not one I would ever feel obligated or inclined to respond to, but you seem nice, and there has been a discussion recently on this forum with some not understanding the difference between commenting on an argument, versus commenting on an individual poster, getting butthurt, and then explicitly making derogatory comments with mal-intent. This is clearly not the case from your side or mine in this instance, and this is how I would hope discussion always occur when someone takes offense. So again, I appreciate you explaining how you perceived my bit of humor, so I could make clear it was just a joke directed at what was clearly a very poor proposal in my opinion. It's no fun to be serious all the time. If I did know of one, I would not share it with anyone on this forum. I like the team we have now and trust that Olshey knows more than me. It's that whole superiority complex thing I've got going. Just know there are comments even in this thread which accurately illustrate that some people are not capable of "contributing" without making it personal and often these comments remain un-edited, thus perpetuating the notion that it's OK to attack someone personally who pokes fun at an opinion, or attacks an argument. P.S. Welcome to RC2. I hope you enjoy your stay.
