They don't need to stat pad to be good, they just are. As for Love.... he's just... not. And that makes sense.
It makes no sense for Love to be a starter either. See? Bad team. Selfish player. He should move to the East. He'd fit in well over there. And being on a good team with MULTIPLE good players helps. I can understand how that doesn't make sense to you, since you don't have that luxury. Maybe next decade.
If you get more votes than anyone else, you're the starter. Period. Applying any other standards to the process is pointless.
It helps how? It should matter in the MVP race, but not All-Star. That is where the best of the best play. That is why Love is starting. Team performance doesn't matter.
This thread is about the AS game, and how deserving Love is over LMA or Howard. Of course a Minnesota homer is going to say Love, but really, are his stats THAT amazing this year? Love 25/13/4 with .4 bpg and 1 spg. 46% FG/80% FT. Team record is 20-21. LMA 24/12/3 with 1 bpg and 1 spg. 48% FG/82% FT. Team record is 31-11. Very similar statistically, and LMA's team in winning with him being team MVP. Love will be lucky to make the playoffs, a place he's never been in 6 NBA seasons now.
Love doesn't help win Minny games Howard does. Love doesn't help win Minny games. LMA does. I don't care about stats. I care about W's. You'll understand that some day.
Well no shit. Bryant got more votes than all guards but one. He's the starter, period. It doesn't mean that he SHOULD be the starter, though. I thought that was fairly obvious from this thread.
Funny enough, AS starters aren't based on that. Kobe wouldn't be there. Hey, quick question. Not AS talk. When is the last time Love has been to the NBA playoffs? Just off the top of your head... ballpark, whereabouts was the last time he was in the playoffs?
Similar, with Love getting the edge. And why are we using traditional FG%? TS% for Love is .562 and Aldrige is .535
Per 36 their numbers are virtually identical, except Boogie is unstoppable in the paint. Love likes to jack 7 or 8 threes every game. I'd take Boogie.
The only reason I wouldn't take Boogie is his attitude. If he got that cleaned up I'd take him all day. Love is just not good.
31-11 > 20-21. Wolves fans probably don't get this, since it has been so long since that sorry franchise has had a good team.
Neither will his TPup fanbois. Until Love leaves that sorry franchise, and moves to the Lakers, of course, to be a great #2 to whichever true franchise player the Lakers luck into this summer.
