    ~~~The "OFFICIAL" 2014 trade deadline thread~~~
    Less than a month away now will the Blazers make any moves? Will Mo be included in a deal being that he said he would opt out of his deal? :cheers:
    Some deal will be made to bolster the front line. Whether if it's a trade or someone being claimed off waivers. Something will be done.
    Will Mo be included? Think it all depends on what he can bring back in return and exactly where CJ is at at the time.
    I wonder about Mo. Overall I like his game. He pushes the ball, isn't afraid of shooting, makes good assists, keeps the floor calm... now and then he can shoot us out of a game, but he's a very valuable player.
    ~~No assets~~ = ~~No moves~~
    They aren't trading a starter and the team has nothing else!
    I wonder what Mo, Leonard and maybe Claver can net the Blazers?
    I don't see us moving Mo regardless of how CJ looks. He can look great, but if you're a team really considering making a big push, I don't see how you trade your 6th man with a lot of experience to give a rookie big minutes.
    I still don't think Tayshaun Prince would be a bad target, Either would Channing Frye.
    Top 10 players to be moved before the deadline and C.J. McCollum is #6 on the list.
    [IMG]
    Both this season and in future years, C.J. McCollum could be a tantalizing addition alongside Damian Lillard in the Portland Trail Blazers backcourt. However, they have more pressing needs if they want to win now.
    Robin Lopez has stabilized the defense with his rim protection, but Portland suffers on that end when he sits, diminishing the team's ability to capitalize on its greatest asset.
    LaMarcus Aldridge's star-making work on the block is powering the Blazers' unlikely rise into the juggernaut ranks. Even so, he's a middling defender at best, and in order to conserve his strength and maximize his output on the other end, Portland hides him by playing him with a more bullish big.
    While Mo Williams, Dorell Wright and company have bolstered the perimeter scoring off the bench, the frontcourt corps is still thin. Behind Robin Lopez, Thomas Robinson doesn't have the size to protect the rim, while Joel Freeland and Meyers Leonard just aren't good enough to man the center position.
    From 2015 onward, the Blazers have first-rounders to deal, but it would actually make more sense for Portland to part with 2013's 10th overall pick in order to fill that void.
    At 6'4", 200 pounds, McCollum would be smallish in the same lineup as Lillard, who has cemented his role as a cornerstone of the franchise with his play this season. With Williams coming off the bench, McCollum is expendable for a team hoping to make a deep postseason run.
    Writer loses all credibility (if he had any previously) by stating that Wright has bolstered our perimeter scoring.
    Ya I got a laugh out of that to but at the same time I don't think Wright is totally worthless. Besides whos to say Wright wouldn't be included in a McCollum deal for a wing player?
    We are not trading CJ.
    We are not trading Mo.
    Why would someone give us a better PF/C than the ones we have, for the ones we have?
    No one else has any value.
    Ergo: No trades.
    If I could be serious for a minute. How is moving C.J. considered a significant move for a team that wants to win now? I like him too and I understand that word potential. The guy is a rookie that is avg. 6 pts and 1 rebounds.
    compared to Babbitt Wright HAS bolstered the bench scoring. It was a pretty low bar to jump over.
    I'm not saying he's not an asset but how is he considered a significant move?
