What are your expectations of his career? A role player, 6th man type, or future All Star?

Or do you need more time?

Gosh, I think he has playmaking abilities to be a star. The only thing that hurts him is he's kind of a tweener.

I think he can be a starting SG for the Blazers. Once get gets more comfortable I think he'll be a good high volume shooter, perhaps a Steve Smith type of player.

He can create and he can spot up. I still think Brandon Roy light.

He does kind of remind me of Roy at times.

We haven't really gotten to see it, but in the NBADL he could get to the rim and finish very much like BRoy.

He's smooth with the ball. I think he's more of a PG than Mo.

I think the tweener aspect could become a strength for our team.

he absolutely should be getting more pt already. mo does not deserve 20 minutes. i feel like i say this in every thread but mo makes more mistakes then cj AND cj is no worse than mo on defense.
stotts needs to take the kid gloves off and let cj blossom a little bit more. my idea would be for when dam comes back around 8 or 9 minutes in the 4th to take mo out instead of cj

In the little time CJ has played in the 4th, he has shown the ability to make a bucket or two. However, I almost always get nervous putting a rookie (4 year college guy or not) out there with the game on the line... Dame notwithstanding. That's where the dillema is. Because I love CJ's game, I think he's going to be a great option and potentially move Wes to the bench (Which I do not consider a demotion by any means) at some point either next year or the year after. I think Wes is a team player and it won't affect anything, IMO.

i see where you are coming from but i think letting him stay in the game until the 6 minute mark wouldnt hurt too much. he doesnt seem to foil under pressure and honestly i think him gettin 16 minutes a game instead of 14 would help him get into a better rhythm. doesnt sound like much but i think it would help

I haven't seen enough yet to make proclamations about how good he'll be. However, in the limited minutes he's played I think he has a better game than Dame. He can play both inside and outside the 3-point line, and dribbles the ball better. I don't know that he has the killer instinct to take & make game winners though. And who knows if he'll be able to maintain his current ability - and get better - after teams start scouting him. I certainly hope so. And I certainly hope that Dame expands his game so he can be a more effective player too.
From what I've seen from Dame this year he looks better suited to a Super 6th Man role...which is also the role I think is best suited to CJ. I think (hope?) that Lillard breaks out of his doldrums and continues down the path of the budding star PG that he looked like he was going to become. But I don't see a starting back court of Lillard and CJ ever working - the defense would be atrocious. One of them will be our 6th man.

I'm bullish on CJ. More than a role player, never an "All Star" (so few players are). At a minimum an elite 6th man. Most likely an eventual starter. Too early to know beyond that. If Wes takes some games off with an injury we'll be glad we have CJ, and we'll get a better feel for his ceiling. At least I hope to god Stotts would start CJ instead of Mo. ("But Mo, we need your spark off the bench. You're the best backup point guard in the league....")

Vinnie Johnson, but not with the weird barrel chest that the Microwave had.

Man, Vinnie had GUNS for arms.

Maybe we should call CJ the Toaster Oven instead of the Microwave.

So far CJ isn't as quick with the ball in his hands as I'd like him to be. Just the other day vs OKC he had trouble getting around Derek Fisher, a player known to get burnt by guards in the NBA.

I've been impressed with his handles and ball handling abilities. He's extremely smooth, yet shifty on offense. He's got a midrange shot and can hit the floater. Overall, I think he's very polished offensively but hasn't been given the opportunity yet.

I was at the Warriors game last night and coming out at halftime, he didn't miss a shot after about 20. The kid can definitely shoot the ball. I think he has a bright future in the league, but I'm a bit concerned about his athleticism.
