In April, I haven't been to Mexico since I was 19. Anything changed? I'm going to be in Puerto Vallarta. Not my decision, I thought Cancun was the tits. All inclusive, swim up bar. At the very least I'll be tanked all week.
During spring break? Are you bringing sand to the beach? I've only been to PV on a cruise stopover, thought it kind of sucked compared to Cabo.
Have a GPS tracking chip implanted so the Federales can find you and charge you less for your freedom than the kidnappers...
Its pretty dirty. Dunno, lots of crackaz like going there though, so it might be ok. Town was pretty lame. Never did any nightlife though.
And mexico is a bit more dangerous nowadays. It just is. I mean if you're in a resort just chillin you should be fine though.
An acquaintance recently got jacked for his wallet, his shoes, and his hoodie in PV. Not that far from resorts, but supposedly he and two friends were walking some side street. Dude rolls by on a bike and puts a gun to one of the dudes in the group. That'd definitely ruin a vacation.
Went to Cabo 5 years ago and did a lot of walking around the town. Never felt unsafe. Maybe it's just different on the Baja, or maybe we were just lucky.
Cabo is relatively safe imo. However, there was a shooting at the shopping center next to the Marina a couple of years ago. Fortunately nobody got hurt.
1, 300 beheadings in Mexico over the last 5 years. 260 a year. How many in the US over the last 5 years? Better yet, how many US beheadings since 1776?
Cabo is usually safe because its not really on the drug route from south america. Its separated by a body of water.
