I don't get it. You make all these conclusions that posters had less basketball intelligence then her and small penis size led to the hostility about her . . . or something like that. And then you post that usually you didn't even bother to read the threads that turned into pissing matches. Wouldn't reading those pissing matches give you a better perspective and be able to draw more accurate conclusions? It's like saying I usually don't watch the Blazers past the first quarter but let me tell you the problems with the Blazers . . . they are too cocky, selfish and play a lazy style of basketball.
I don't think I have ever seen MM and BF in the same room together. Normally that would be strange, but since I actually never seen MM or BF at all, much less in a room, I don't think I'm on to anything,
I'll certainly have to type more now because BF usually covered the topics I wanted to address before I would get around to it and do it in a more articulate fashion. In her defense, some of her conflicts were old ones with former fan site posters that have recently migrated here. She told me about this site and she loved it here but wasn't one to suffer fools when it came to the team. Yeah, she has a short fuse and sharp tongue. At least she wasn't racist, sexist or a fair weather fan. I think she did more good than bad. She took her fair share of flak from the "old timers" here. On a final thought, I wouldn't ban her but would have advised those she was in direct conflict with to set their ignore buttons to ignore. That was one of the functions she seemed so excited about and the edit function. She had nothing but praise for the site when she told me about it. Seems weird she was given a scarlet letter so quickly...she joined in late November maybe? I can tell by a handful of threads that there are folks I don't personally care for here but I wouldn't ban them because of the fact. I think whoever recommended a gloves off sparring thread here for pure war had something.
Sounds like BF has now been banned from BE and S2 and gets heavily edit at some other Blazer site . . . . . . I blame Batum!
I thought I made that pretty clear in my post you responded to, no? There's a difference in telling you how right he is versus BF's approach. And when Zags is gloating about being right, it's usually a black and white thing, not opinion-based. Not kissing his ass, just pointing out differences in approach.
I don't PM the other mods. We have a private forum where we talk about the last episode of Project Runway.
This was my first experience with message boards and was brought about by my enthusiasm for the Blazers. I enjoyed reading the different perspectives, from the guys who are always negative about everybody to the homers. Maybe I'm naive as an inexperienced message boarder, but the notion that these "mods" can just ban somebody because they don't like things they said or other insiders complain kinda defeats the whole purpose of a message board (absent threats or racial slurs or the like, none of which BF ever did). Even when people got suspended, I was shocked. Had no idea it was even a thing. Overall, I'd love to talk basketball, but this crap is just too much. Feels like a high school popularity contest. As an outsider, my parting advice would be that if you want to be an "old boys' network" where the long-timers can tell the powers that be to ban people who hurt their feelings, that's fine, but you might not want to be the team's official message board if that's the case.
Considering a lot of posts that violate rules are edited it is logical that some people might have missed these violations.
You aren't understanding what's happening here. It's not an "old boys club." The forum is a living, breathing thing. It has it's good days and it's bad days. It can die and it can suffer from cancerous growths that slowly kill it off right before your eyes. I don't think I've ever seen someone come along like BF. She was literally feuding with five or six people at a time. She would become combative at the drop of a hat. She was extremely insecure and would personally attack people at the drop of a hat. She was slowly driving people away. If you guys couldn't see that, I don't know what to tell you. We had to make a judgement call and we chose to remove her. It had nothing to do with her being a woman. Not one thing. We've had women posters in the past who got along just fine. If this is your first experience with a forum, I'm sorry to tell you, but bans and suspensions happen. This forum has very few rules and we are extremely lenient with people. We've only permanently banned just a handful of people. We've only suspended a few more than that. It's usually only extreme cases that we use those tools, but in this case it was an executive decision and it came from the top.
I generally don't post in threads like this because I see it as the Blazers' fans community and I just visit. But I gotta say I'm glad Blazers Fanatic was banned. I get irritated with a few different posters on here and as much as I disagree with their basketball takes, I respect that they will engage in a discussion about it, even if they do so in a (IMO) stupid, douchey way. Blazer Fanatic stood out as stupider and douchier than even the stupid/douchey savants on here, and yet her basketball takes could get ripped to shreds in a single sentence (at which point she'd launch into personal attacks). Its fine if you don't know shit about basketball, but she can't back up an argument, constantly stirs up shit and provokes people. I can't think of a single post of hers that I was glad I read.
I'll assume that you didn't make this up, to deflect blame. It's very noticeable that not one such complainer has come forward in this long thread. After subtracting 1) communication among mods & management and 2) responses from posters after PMs were initiated by you...how many are left? A few chronic tattlers?
