The Broncos would have had a better chance at winning against the 49ers than the Seahawks just because the 49ers don't have the secondary to match up with the Broncos receivers. The Seahawks just turned the field into a diamond for the Broncos offense, the Dline crashed inside and the corners forced most passes to be between the hashes and that is why Chancellor had a monster game laying people out.

Before the series started, people were hyping the it up, saying that the winner of Portland-LA was going on to win it all. I'm pretty sure that's half the reason people were so crushed. Not just the loss. Not just the fact we had a chance to play for a title and lost it. We could taste the title - people were pretty damn certain that if Portland won the series versus LA, they would win the title. Nobody thought the East had a chance versus the West that year, and they were right. And it wasn't just the fans saying it - the analysts and everyone else believed it to be true.

Like you, I was crushed. That's probably my biggest sports loss ever (only the Giants come close, and they have since won two WS). MLB and NBA are my big-time sports. I was crushed two years later when the Giants lost the WS to Anaheim. I dunno that I'll ever be so deflated than those two losses. I don't get burnt up watching the Niners lose, though. One, I got to enjoy Championships with them. Two, I'm not a huge NFL guy. So really, my post wasn't made from some butt-hurt fan. I was simply poking fun at people (like Wheels) that actually believed Denver could win.

Meh. Niners would have given up more points, but their offense would have been better contributors as well. Score-wise, it'd have been a closer game, but it'd still have been relatively easy. Niners offense had been looking far better than the Hawks offense of late. Wilson has been mediocre for many weeks now. He looked better yesterday, only in part to his D getting him the ball enough that he could really relax and let the game come to him.

Of course, you wouldn't have expected Seattle to blow Denver out like that. And 98 times out of 100, it wouldn't be such a blow out. But it was.

I'm a Cowboys fan so I didn't have a dog in the fight. The NFC Championship was far more entertaining than the Superbowl. I think if San Fran had won they would have crushed the Broncos too.

I think SF had the second best team in the league this year. The NFC championship was a war.

I actually texted a Seahawks friend after each championship that I thought Seattle would win... but what the hell figured I'd go down fighting and have some fun :) ... but I was NOT expecting that utter anhilation (sp?) and no one can honestly say they were expecting THAT

I will now be wearing a 12th man jersey next weekend :(

Best team doesn't always win. I believe it's one of those years.

Before people get bitter or call me a hater.... I ain't hating. It's honest. Seattle had a nice run. I ain't knocking it. At the end of the day, the Seahawks have the trophy.

I understand how you feel. However, I would point out that Seattle didn't have Percy Harvin available in that game. Had he played the Seahawks would have won more easily.

Fuckin' Seahawks fan and the God that is Percy Harvin. I pray that's green font.

You guys sound like Blazers fans and Nedzad Sinanovic. Or Joel freeland. Or any other Euro stash we've had.

    BS.

Vegas is incredibly good at picking games and they had Denver by 2.5.

GTFO with the "those that knew football agree with me" garbage.
