I'll take West shooting semi-contested 20' jumpers 15 times a game over PG getting open looks

    Tired starters, rusty bench.

Someone needs to slap Stotts. These losses were easily avoidable.

A finals between the Blazers and Pacers would be a great matchup.

Definitely one of the steadiest PFs in the NBA. In a close game, in the 4th quarter, I'd take West shooting jumpers over LMA 9 times out of 10.

We did prove that we do belong. I don't think anyone really doubts that.

That said, how fucking amazing would it be this year to have an Indiana/Portland finals matchup? (It's a long shot for us.) But damn... both of these games have been the 2 games of the year, without a doubt, in the nba.

I still think CJ needs a few more minutes. But oh well... probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.

When I saw you were the latest to post in this thread, I knew it would be anti-LMA before I even clicked on your post.

Jump shots are good if David West is shooting them.

I wouldn't be so critical of Portland if they had simply come up short, but they literally did not come up with one defensive stop in the last part of the game. 9 fucking offensive rebounds, and throwing it away to the other team for a jam? Part of the problem is how much ground our bench unit gives up. We got a whole new bench and it sucks just as much dick as last year's unit.

I don't buy this, no loss over Indy is easily avoidable let alone on their home court. Good effort tonight with some OT miscues..I think STotts would slap you right back

The difference is no one leaves LMA as open as we were leaving West. We just let West shoot what were basically FTs.

CJ did go 4-4 with 9 points tonight in a big game. Can't complain there.

Wes having to defend Hill late in the game because Lillard refuses to get into a defensive crouch was a good move by Stotts, until Hill figured out that Wes would have to let him take shots.

Despite the loss, that was a fun game to watch! A little frustrating to constantly see opposing PGs post career nights against us. But we played a heck of a lot better than I thought we would.

The Blazers gave up a ton of wide open shots to West, LA shoots those turn around fade away jumpers. Of course they look cool when they go down, but they are also the reason LA is shooting a career low in FG%.

Reason we were giving up offensive boards was because LA started switching on picks for some reason and was stuck on the perimeter for much of the overtime

Eh - most of the shots that LMA takes from that range are also wide open. In the pick/pop both defenders ALWAYS go with Lillard and leave LMA open to bomb away. West is just a superior shooter.

Walked to the local bar, watched the game and had some dinner. I thought it was a pretty good game. Wes was amazing at the end of the 4th. This loss doesn't really bother me. We competed. It could have just as easily gone our way.

On this level you don't lose games, teams win games. Credit the best defensive team in the league for winning at home in OT...they took this one. We didn't give it away.
