I swear this site had another rumor a while back that we were going to trade for Asik.

    This isn't a legit source.

Bench scoring, to take minutes off the starters. Deng does nothing to improve this.

    I highly doubt it.

Deng plays like a leader and Batum plays like a secretary. But Deng will be 30 in April and wants a great big contract. Unless we come out ahead with a second good Cav, I'd reluctantly say no.

Although I don't like the trade unless we get a first rounder, I agree with Chris that Nic has probably reached his full potential with us. And while he's a nice player overall he has been a letdown to me.

I really doubt Deng could get a contract much bugger than Nic's. He's a good player but nowhere near elite. It's take one stupid GM or team prez type (hello, Michael Jordan) for him to see a contract like he may want.

I think we could do better for Nic than Luol Deng.

That's if he can even pass a team physical. The "broken finger" story could be subterfuge for something worse.

Selected to the NBA All-Star Game in 2012 and 2013.
Selected to the NBA All-Defensive 2nd Team in 2011-12.

His injuries were an issue in the past, but he seems to be ok as of late. The biggest issue I would have is that he is a free agent in a few months. What are the odds that he re-signs? I am not sure he is worth the gamble. He is a damn good player. Better than Nic but if we lose him for nothing it would set us back. He will be 29 in April. That is not a problem. He has 3 good years left .

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA For those asking, Luol Deng can be traded again by the Cavaliers before the Feb. 20 deadline. He just can't be packaged with another player.

I've thought this year a trade would be difficult to make because of the chemistry we've developed. I think that situation is particularly true with Batum. He may not have played consistently well, but he's our "glue" guy. Trading him would really mess with the way we play.

Deng's PER is better than Batum's.
