So get this. I had to leave at half time to take my wife and daughter to dinner. We ended up at Red Robin. Cool. I can watch the game. Right?

Every fucking TV in the place was on the LAKERS GAME!! WTF??!!!??? I was pretty pissed. I complained to every employee who came near me. I was not scoring any points with my wife, I can tell you that. I actually got up and went around the room and made the waitresses change every TV to the Blazers game. Some of them looked at me like they had no clue what my problem was.

Can you fucking imagine an Oregon restaurant showing the fucking Lakers game instead of the Blazers game? It's surreal. I'm home and I'm still ticked off about it. I can only speculate that the manager of this particular Red Robin must be from Los Angeles. If so, that's no excuse. There is no excuse. Know your clientele.

    Crazy.

Barton's interview about his 360 dunk is classic. He didn't even think about it until he was already starting the dunk, then he thought if he missed the 360 he'd be benched, so he didn't jump as high as he does in practice. Where amazing happens...

The influx of California residents moving to Portland is as booming as ever.

This confounds me. They aren't at all good. Maybe Corbin is a great coach.

Next time talk to the manager, not waitresses who don't know the difference between basketball and badminton.

Maybe all screens had to be on the same channel, or maybe he could have changed the one closest to you. A year ago I asked a McDonalds to change the channel, and they said no one there, including the shift manager, had that authority or knowledge.

So then the manager turns out to be a Laker fan

I doubt it was because of Laker fans in Red Robin. Hell they stopped watching the Lakers in LA, why would Laker fans anywhere else want to watch them play? My guess the reason the game was on was because of a lazy ass manager who never even noticed and left the the TV set on ESPN. None the less it pisses me off restaurants and bars make no effort until customers complain.

I must have missed where he says the manager is Hispanic?

EDIT - nevermind. Saw it another quoted post. We all know that only 30% of Hispanics who live in Portland are from LA. :MARIS61:

Look at your quoted text in post #427.

I deleted my original post because he edited his...but you preserved it for prosperity's sake.

Good solid win. Sure, Utah isn't great, but sometimes overcoming some shitty play with a strong 4th quarter is what you need to get going.

Isn't it a bit odd that every TV in the Red Robin was turned onto the Laker game? I'd have asked for the same thing, in terms of watching the Blazer game. I'm always amazed at how ignorant people who work in even quasi-sports setting are about local teams. I've had to have Duck football games turned on at times, let alone Blazer games.

The Red Robin closest to me (Mall 205) does not have Comcast, and therefore cannot show most Blazer games. It's possible that the Red Robin you visited suffers from the same infirmity.
