Alfie is a UFA this summer. Why deal Cally for that unless we get a very solid 2nd piece.

Who knows. He did narrow it down some though. Still say it is a guy with a 4's cap hit, signed for at least one more season.

Good point, forgot about the Sochi aspect. Yeah, Hart is out, and that is good.

I think Boomer is talking out of his ass. The best trade partners IMO were out west.

Yeah this is looking very fishy. If Boomer hadnt nailed the MDZ Klein trade I wouldnt have given this a second thought.

Carolina (Ruutu) or Montreal (Pacioretty) make sense.

    I could see those.

He also had Avery a few years back.

I doubt Boomer is talking out of his ass. A deal may not happen, but I don't see Boomer as that kind of guy. He is well respected. If it was Carton, different story. But I think Boomer is legit.

He;s saying a bunch of people have already guessed it correctly, but do everybody's tweets show up on his replies? I have no idea how twitter works. I have a feeling he's just not showing those who guessed correctly because then it would be obvious. Nobody has guessed Pac yet from what I can see

Pac is too good as I look closer. No way Montreal does that.

    Ruutu is possible though.

    -It is not Martin Erat
-This was something that no-one saw coming
-The player coming back to the Rangers played in Sochi
    -It is not the Penguins
-It is not the Caps, Sens or Devils

Why is he saying 'shocking and surprising' hasnt everyone basically known he might be traded for awhile?

So Caps, Sens, Devs out. As well as Toronto and Boston.
    Team is in the East.
A rental deal, which says the other team must be in the playoff hunt.
No one saw it coming must mean someone surprising on the other end of the deal.

    Very interesting...

Pac is also signed for a good long time, Boomer said the guy isn't coming back signed long term. Ruutu only has 2 years left, and a hit in the 4's. Matches up.

Buff, Carolina, CBJ, Det, Florida, Montreal, Isles, Flyers, TB.

Take out Buff, Florida, and NYI for sure (no playoffs).

Canes, CBJ, Wings, Habs, Flyers, and TB left. Pick an Olympian on one of those teams.

That would be dumb imo to deal Ruutu for basically a slightly better RC.
