Chris Herring @HerringWSJ Knicks point guard Raymond Felton has been arrested on alleged gun charges, according to a law-enforcement source. Chris Herring @HerringWSJ Felton was arrested on the Upper West Side for criminal possession of a weapon. Faces 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree charges, according to a source
New York Knicks star Raymond Felton was being questioned by police Tuesday morning after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman, sources said. The starting point guard, whose wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, recently filed for divorce, was being quizzed at the 20th Precinct Station House on the Upper West Side, according to law-enforcement sources. The woman involved was his girlfriend, sources said. It was not clear where the alleged incident happened. The Post’s Page Six reported last week that Felton’s wife filed for divorce after 19 months of marriage. Felton — whom the Knicks signed two years ago in a vain effort to replace Jeremy “Linsanity” Lin — scored just eight points in the Knicks’ 110-108 loss to the Dallas Mavericks shortly before the incident on Monday night. He inked a $10 million, three-year contract, and the team failed to unload him by last week’s trade deadline. http://nypost.com/2014/02/25/knicks-raymond-felton-being-questioned-by-cops/
He married the golddigger the same month Olshey traded him? A month of big changes for him. Now his career is crashing, so he cracks under pressure. If he can accept himself as a substitute, not starter talent, he'll decrease the pressure he puts upon himself.
Their remaining PGs are Pablo Prigioni (#2 in assists) and rookie Chris Smith, J.R.’s undrafted brother. They just waived their #3 assist man, SG Beno Udrih. They need a backup PG unless they can spring him till the trial.
J.R. would have to play a lot of sub PG, but I think they'll be able to keep Felton out on bail for the rest of the season, so no lineup change. With strict NYC gun laws, he'll be lucky if his sentence is less than a year. I never hated him like some of you. He's just not a starter, and I think it's sinking in to him. When we got him, it was no secret that he takes half a season to play into shape. If that had not been the case, we would have had to pay more. This of course, severely impacts his career at its height (dark humor there).
Oh, okay, I vaguely remember that. Kind of. Felton will miss a year in prison. The Knicks can't get anything for him now. Who was the NFL player who got 2 years, but he shot his gun accidentally, and Felton didn't shoot, so less time for him.
Plaxico; he shot himself in the thigh at a club. Not sure what Felton faces though, I dont know the criminal law of NY. I wonder if he had them registered what charges if any would he face...
Meh. He's a rich athlete and can buy his way out. People will lie for him and he'll get an attorney who really knows the ropes.
Not in New York City. He's toast. He turns 30 after this season. He could fit another 2 years in after prison, as a minimum wage NBA substitute.
1) new York gun laws are stupid 2) the article says its not even been proved he pointed it at her 3) I need to invent a jump to conclusions mat
