    Why was 59 banned?

It seems that someone is flexing his muscle. Look, I understand the need for some control, but to penalize these guys and in another post insinuate that they were the reason the site hasn't grown is unfair. As you know Rick worked hard to get new people to the site. WTF, I understand Denny's position to a point it just seems to me that the wrong people are being punished. Is 59 a load, yes, but he wouldn't drive me away if it was the case. It looks bleak...

We don't ban people that disagree with us. Denny really got on Rick's shit list the other day for arguing with him. Rick wouldn't let it go. He called Denny out last night and detailed how unhappy he was with the website, that he didn't like it or want to contribute to it any longer, that he was leaving and going somewhere else, etc. Some guys don't want to quit they want to get fired and Rick got what he demanded. 59 took up for Rick and wanted to martyr himself as well so now they're both free to land somewhere they'll be happier.

As an admin, or whatever Denny is, he should be above calling out and pointing fingers at people on a message board. I read some responses and they are childish, as is this post that appears to be carrying on with unnecessarily childish behavior. This is a Yankee message board and not a single game has been televised or heard. Rick and 59 are 2 very good pieces to baseball discussions once they start rolling, whether you agree with their points or not. Not a good way to get this season started here.

Look, it's your board, and we all have our opinions and past experiences. Denny and all who make these boards possible may have reasons that are not known or any of my business. I also defended Rick and 59 on the 3 O/T post that became the issue. Although I didn't participate as the record shows in the O/T other to agree about the cowardly manner of some post, your own rules say that multiple S/N will be made public. I preferred this board to the Reddit board because after ESPN shut down everyone was trying to find a new home, and Rick was instrumental in helping me choose S2 based on post quality and subject matter. It's unfortunate for all of the regulars here on this puny site. As a retired Senior VP of a Fortune 100 company, I understand that decisions need to be made that sometimes are perceived as unpopular, I wish Denny would look at it through a different set of eyes. This board was about to take off once the season started, Did some chase others away? Isn't that true with all sites. In closing, I wish I could understand how being called a Klansman does not result in their banning of the people who wrote that. Assume for a second my authenticity is Afro-American, yet that was allowed. Good luck from here on out.

We made Rick a mod. We didn't have it out for him. We wanted him to develop this part of the website after ESPN shuttered. Get people in here talking Yankees baseball. Old habits are hard to break and Rick & 59 couldn't help but revert back to off-topic discussions. With a certain level of tact those discussions could've flourished but as it was they devolved into name-calling almost instantly each and every time. In one case it compelled people to leave this site and then smear S2 elsewhere as a place where certain controversial views were proliferated which was a shitty outcome.

This is Denny's website. He operates it 'cause he wants to. If you think there's money to be made in message boards I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. We were hoping that the people here would enjoy talking about the Yankees since ESPN went down but civil discussions on other topics would be fine, too. Denny was very patient. Rick & 59 berated him. I've known Denny for a long time. It's hard to push his buttons but every person has a breaking point. By the time Denny hit back at them it was after a long stretch of trying to be the bigger man and debate them on the merits of their arguments and not their characters.

But since I post on the other site in question, are you fully aware of who was creating the issues for your board using Rick and 59, and lumping "the 6 regular posters as Klansman". This is a puny board that I feel was positioned to take off once the season started. I'm letting go, I try to respect all opinions regardless of my personal view. But after I repeatedly asked, you and Denny have failed to provide me with an answer to why the people calling the 6 regulars Klansman have not been banned or sanctioned if you are going to be consistent. I ask that you reconsider your banning and reach out to Rick for the good of this board, however I will respect your decision regardless of outcome with the exception of why me being called a Klansman is alright and goes without punishment, that is all I ask. If I am out of bounds I apologize in advance.

Who are the posters here that are calling anyone klansmen? I haven't seen it. What I have seen is posts here that seem to celebrate being called the klan by people at other sites. Guess what? I don't want this site to be known as the home of the klan.

I didn't ban anyone because of any disagreements with me, or even violating the rules about respecting the staff. My concern is about new posters being called cowards, accused of using multiple usernames, and threads like this one being started by a moderator:

There were no people using multiple usernames in this forum. Some of you found it shocking that there could be more than one person who found social attitudes posted here to be klan-like (for lack of a better word, their word). I saw one poster ridiculed because he used his company name spelled backwards as his username. I saw one poster who is a regular here accused of making a second username and he asked me to come in here to verify he hadn't.

I mean it's just absurd the bad treatment anyone but a few "regulars" here got and I was left with a choice of having a handful (hence puny) of regular posters posting stuff that's unpopular throughout the Internet, while gaining a negative reputation for the site, or ditching the guys who were causing harm.

I asked them to leave nicely. They refused. It was a sort of death by cop situation.

They joined a very small handful of non-spammers to have achieved a ban here.

Fair enough, Denny, I am not following 59 or Rick because I support their post as much as I disagreed with the others who you say are legit but I question their motives. Everyone here posts on their own merit. You have done what you felt was necessary. I can see your point. Good luck going forward.

I didn't ban everyone for good reason.

You've acted like an adult, as have the rest. We have no issue with openly discussing how we run the site. You want to discuss the bans, so be it.

I wish it didn't come to this, but my hand was forced.

Denny, Uneasy lies the head that wears the Crown. As I said, good luck going forward. Let's try to put some meat on these puny bones.

We traditionally allow forums to elect their own moderators. You up for that?

We need to start a mod nomination thread. Only active members are eligible. If we get at least two nominations, we start a poll thread where you get to vote. Guy with most votes becomes moderator.

Feel free to start the nomination thread.

If we need to add additional mods later, we do the same thing.

Klan-like...for lack of a better word? Bullshit Denny, you have a much more robust vocabulary. You can delude yourself that your applied a balanced resolution, but to anyone not hyper reactive to this social topic, you picked a side. And then you continued both allowing escalation, while also antagonizing yourself. Those threads smack of moral and social superiority coming from you, backed by your willingness to ultimately wield your power of censorship.

While not the only resident Yankee Baseball experts, you kicked off a significant battery of knowledge an insight. 59 and Rick generate traffic and would have drawn a lot to this site once the season starts.

Pretty sad day when tolerance is limited to only those with the acceptable social world view.

Denny, I think there is a misunderstanding but let me help clear it up from my side. I have no interest in being a Mod, that should go to someone who has experience and are better posters than I. Hammer, Totus, Vette, and people like that. With regrets, I have been surprised by the last couple of days and I have lost my interest in posting till the games get started. I will check in from time to time.
