Two Trail Blazers scored 20+ points off the bench (Barton, Williams) for the first time since Dec. 12, 2007 vs. GS (J. Jones, T. Outlaw).

Will Barton is the first NBA player with 20+ pts, 11+ reb, 4+ ast and 60%+ FG off the bench since Will Barton on April 7, 2013 vs. Dallas.

Portland's 44-point win (124-80) is tied for the eighth-largest margin of victory in franchise history.

I don't want to start another thread, but does Barton move in front of CJ in the rotation? If anyone wants to have that discussion, please start the thread.

That is awesome! When he is on and under control, he brings things no other Blazer can. He would have had 5 assists if Claver hadn't fumbled a no-look pass that would have resulted in an easy lay-up. And when he is on, he is so much fun to watch.

The other thing is, he is so much longer and a better defender than CJ. It makes us not so undersized if he is in the backcourt and he can start the break off his own rebound. Not that he is great but he is always around the ball, deflecting passes, getting rebounds, following shots and providing energy. If he can just play smarter, he should get more minutes hands down.

At this point I'd have him backing batum, both can play point forward. Wright can play some stretch 4 as he's proven. We almost have too many good players all the sudden, its a good problem to have.

That is awesome! When he is on an plays under control, he brings something no other player on the roster does. He has massive energy, is always around the ball, rebounds very well for his size and can start the break on his own. He is a solid passer....would have had 5 assists tonight if Claver doesn't fumble away a pretty no-look pass that should have resulted in a lay-in.

He is longer than CJ and player better (although not great) defense and keeps the Blazers from being so small if he is in the backcourt. He routinely does a bit of everything and if he can play like that, there certainly needs to be minutes for him.

Maybe Barton takes Wright's minutes backinuo Batum when everyone comes back.

The only reason Wright was playing before the injuries was because CJ got benched.

I only hope Claver stays in the rotation. He's earned it.

He's consistently a factor on defense, whereas guys like Barton and TRob only show flashes on a game to game basis.

Claver's mostly terrible, IMO. I'd rather have Barton or Robinson in the rotation.

I've liked clavar as far as moving without the ball and playing defense. Seems to have good chemistry with 3rd stringers from practice. At this point I'd stick crabbe and Leonard in d league and put Watson in a suit if we have to. Everyone else is earning time.

Barton has always intrigued me for all the reasons you listed. I agree he adds skills that the team lacks. Mainly ball handling skills
We always need someone to break down the defense other than just Lillard. I want Will to be good. Again for all the reasons you listed. He has earned the back up SG spot for now. Terry needs to keep playing him. Scold him when he takes the occasional quick shot, but at the same time let Will be Will. The guy has great instincts and a nose for the ball. I enjoy watching him play.

Last year I felt that Joel's horrible shooting was mental. That proved to be true as he shot the ball much better this year.

This year I think Claver's poor shooting is mental as well. Once he gets his confidence back to the point where you can't leave him alone he will be a major contributor for various positions. He can be that 9th or 10th guy. He also has a good nose for the ball.

Can't shoot, but like Joel does all of the little things. Rotates really well on defense. Solid fundamentals. Barton or Robinson can have games where they explode, but also ones where they hurt you bad. Claver is solid and steady.

Absolutely let him know when he is out of control too much but that is where he plays a little bit. If Stotts or Will himself trys to take it away too much, he will not be as effective. Besides, if Mo got scolded for the occasional quick shot, Stotts would have been horse a loooong time ago. :D

Claver had a negative WS/48 in over 800 minutes last season. He was steady in his bad play. Hopefully tonight lights a spark, but I don't see the minutes for him once LMA returns, let alone the bench bigs. If you want to give him Wright's minutes, I suppose I get it, but CJ got Wright's minutes before the injuries, and kind of failed at that spot. Barton deserves some PT, which means you go big with Robinson or Freeland when healthy over Wright or even CJ. I don't hate Claver at all, though, and he does look decent on the court the last two games. Tough call for Stotts. Not a bad problem to have for a coach.

Mo, Will, Wright and Claver + a center (Maybe Trob)
Mo, CJ, Will, and TRob + a center
Mo, Will, Claver, Trob + a center

These all intrigue me because I think Will helps Mo push the tempo, create movement, and allows us to play small while being able to rebound.
