Have a buddy from one of our supplying wineries in town staying with the family. He arrives the day before. He's never been to Portland so I'll show him around and we'll party properly.

It's my Dad's birthday. My brothers and I (and any other family members that can make it) get together every year for Irish Car Bombs and beer in his memory. Taking Tuesday off so I can do it up right.
Probably keeping it local. I usually let the two of them decide where we go. I'd be all over heading north if that's what they want to do...
My grandmother on Dad's side was a full-blooded Murphy, one generation removed from Ireland. IIRC, Grandpa was mostly German with at least one Irishman in his ancestry a generation or two back. Mom's parents were mostly Scottish, but both had some Irish in them. Now that I'm thinking about it, my Mom is doing some ancestry research, I think I'll get together with her and try to do the math... And we LOVE beer, lol...

Best part about st Patrick's day is discount corned beef, and you know this I usually get 5 or so and stash them in the freezer
