Looks like he'll be right. Way to shoot for the stars, LaMarcus. http://www.beyondthebuzzer.com/2013/10/25/lamarcus-aldridge-predicts-blazers-will-finish-7th-seed/
Did the season end tonight? He's not right, by my estimation, until the end of the season. I know. That's shocking. HOW CAN THAT BE?!?! But it is.
Deep down, I don't believe he thinks this is their year which could be playing a part in his behavior on the court. When he said two months ago, he wanted to be here long term. He mentioned he thought he had a really good team and that he thought they could go all the way NEXT year. I think he has a pretty good feel for the game and for his team. He knows what they can do and how far they can go. I think you'll get the most from LA again this season but I think it will come when it really matters to the team.
If the Blazers go on a win streak, he'll be posting about how awesome the team is. Yes, it's trolling to me, and not as effectively as MIXUM's trolling.
Since when is 42-20 considered "average?" You seem to be having more fun with the Blazer loss than I can remember you ever on the board after a Blazer win. This seems to be your thing. Your posts are always so full of anger. I hope this outlet is helping you, and I mean that sincerely.
I hate when the Blazers lose. I just hate it more when a fan of the team gets verbally attacked over and over again for stating their opinion on how the team will do at the beginning of the season and then having it constantly thrown back in their face when the team plays WAY above expectations. So fuck those people
Huh? You said "average." Is 42-20 "average?" I have no idea what you're trying to communicate right now.
They were 31-9. 11-11 since then and have beaten 1 team with a winning record (Tor) in that span. I' think its fair to suggest they've been average since Mid Jan.
It's interesting how some fans almost take more glee from the team losing than they do from the team winning. Or, if the word glee bothers you, it's interesting how some fans almost take more pride in being right about the team losing than they do in the team winning.
Most of the negativity stems from frustration with the way the team's played since mid Jan, and fear that it's unraveling. Maybe some gloat in the spirit of "I told you so", but the majority are just upset. Irrational? Perhaps. But not many are enjoying the struggles of our team IMHO.
Nobody enjoys their home team losing. But the level of hand-wringing that goes on in here sometimes is simply staggering. It was a close loss to a dangerous team in their house -- those happen. Think Dallas wouldn't love to trade records with us right now? Hell, 23 out of 29 other NBA teams would love to trade records with us. It was silly and premature to anoint the Blazers as champions back when they were winning lots of close games against good teams, and it's silly and premature to bury the season now that they are losing close games against good teams.
A). I'm not burying them. I'm just saying that we're trending down the standings. 7th seed is possible and that would be depressing to me. B). I don't take glee in losses. Losses hurt. I've spent thousands to watch them play and have the logo on my leg. When they win, I'm happy. When they lose, I'm hurt. There's nothing wrong with that.
See my comment in the game thread. I'm not accusing you of being one of those Debbie Downer "SEE I WAS RIGHT THE TEAM IS TRASH" posters -- your fandom is not in doubt. I'm just trying to convince you that your obsession with recent history (i.e. the last few games), and your tendency to draw trend lines based on them ("we lost a close one on the road, therefore Aldridge isn't aiming high and we will be fighting for the 7th seed") is unreasonable.
