See Vid (@:55) Damian Lillard doesn't like Patrick Beverley's psychological tactics "What ARE you doing." I thought it was funny, cheers to Dame for keeping his cool.
I still think we should just send Nards in to level that little fucker. Pay his fines, take the suspension, but put that little fucker on his ass.
Where's Andre Miller when you need him? I guarantee if Dre was going to rack up six fouls against Beverly he would have made at least one of them count and sent that little fuckstick into photographers' row. BNM
I think that's what completely drives me nuts about the NBA. They allow Beverly to hang all over Lillard, but they call every little flop and touch foul going the other way. It's that inconsistency that drives me up the wall.
Everyone but the Refs. As usual. Beverly is a straight up Bitch. Just this game alone someone could make a lowlight reel with at least a dozen incidents involving that fucker.
That pisses me off as well. It's like once a guy gets handed a reputation as a good defender, he's allowed to shove and pull and grab a ton more. And it's not a vet or star thing, just purely some rep. I dunno where it comes from, or how it starts. Look at Bayless, when he was on Memphis. He was allowed to shove and grab all over Dame when we played them. Everytime he played defense even CLOSE to that in Portland, he was called for a foul.
I've noticed that too. I've especially noticed it with big men. Guys who are known shot blockers get away with some really sketchy goal tends in my opinion.
On most teams, Beverley would be benched because of foul trouble. He's on a team with Dwight Howard, James Harden, Jeremy Lin, and Chandler Parsons, though. I've said it before, but he's the new Avery Bradley. Average player who gets a lot of hype because the refs don't call fouls on him, since his style help mask the defensive deficiencies of the stars on his team (Howard aside).
It's Beverley, by the way. Not that it matters, but we're supposed to be knowledgeable fans in Portland.
On most teams (like ours) Beverley wouldn't need to be the starting PG and would be a fan favorite off the bench. I (like most) don't like the guy personally but would love him on our team in a backup PG role. In that role he is going to have a hard time fouling out in less then 20 minutes a game.
The Rockets did what was necessary. We didn't. It sucks, but the only way to overcome it next time is to learn about why we lost.
I'd rather see the Blazers lose a game as opposed to resorting to flopping and whining to get calls. I'd rather watch legitimate basketball than watch the Blazers win because the refs side with them and their BS antics. I'm sure I'm in the extreme minority with this position, but it's really how I feel. I'm the fan at home games who talks to the guy next to me when the replay shows a foul on the Blazers, though, by saying "eh, looks like the right call." I'll boo egregious calls, of course, but to me, an educated fanbase doesn't need to whine about every single play, especially when replay shows it's the right call.
