I'm not feeding the "collapse" fire. I will say we probably won't recover home court advantage but we're making the playoffs.
To make the top 8, we must do better than #9 Dallas, which is 42-29 now. We are 45-26. So in the 11 games left, if we keep playing under .500, like say win 5 of 11, Dallas must win 8 of 11. Probably not, but possible, so it will keep us nervous to the end. http://espn.go.com/nba/standings
Hahah HCA is loooong gone when we choked against Houston. We have no chance at that. But of the 5th thru 9th teams, we stick out as the team that is playmg awful. We are 3-7 in last 10. Warriors 7-3 Memphis 8-2 Phoenix 6-4 Dallas 6-4 One of these things is not like the other. I hope it doesn't come down to games against GS and LAC in the last week of the season to make the playoffs. That would be too much pressure for our team to handle. We MUST win tomorrow.
But we could easily go 3-8 the way we are playing. Then Dallas would only have to go 6-5, very doable for them.
We've been playing playing badly ever since the last game OKC beat us and it has been a gradual deflation ever since. Nothing has slowed down that deflation. Nothing has stopped it.
Actually he jinxed them by starting the "contenders" thread. Which was really predictable at the time, so I had to go in and get my words in. :MARIS61:
I thought we played an incredible 4th qtr against the champs on the road tonight. We were a stop and a bucket from beating the heat tonight..that, in my view is a far cry from playing badly.
I still have faith in this team. Now the Charlotte game was horrible...this game tonight was far from horrible.
We fell behind by 17. That is why we lost. Dug too big of a hole. We are not playing well. Moral victories won't get us into the playoffs. We need actual Ws regardless of whom we play.
It's horrible because we are heading in the wrong direction. We've put ourselves in a tough spot where we need to actually win some of these.
on the other hand, as I've mentioned in another post...the 8th seed against the Spurs looks better than the 5th against the Rockets now. That could spell being headed in the right direction from some perspectives.
That's right. We are mathematically eliminated from the those 12 spots though. Even if we lost all 11 games left on the schedule.
