I'd take 8 seed right now. Take it and run as fast as I could. If we were to not make playoffs after that start, it's rebuilding mode. Probably have to trade LA, get rid of Stotts . . . not good. Teams that start 31-9 and miss the playoffs don't stay together. Just too much bitterness to overcome. 8th seed/1 & done? You can call that experience & build on it. Half our guys haven't played in a post season before. But it's tough to build on a total meltdown. I'm not thinking about HCA. I'm just hoping we don't cave & end up #9. That would be 2011 Boston Red Sox "OMG they're drinking beer in the clubhouse, fire the manager, & makeover the roster" bad.

6-5 should be enough to get us in. Barring a major collapse and failing to steal any tough games that is what we should do. Orlando and Atlanta should be wins, the Bulls could be tough if they make any baskets so I chalk that up as a loss. We lose to Memphis before we beat the Lakers, then lose to Suns, then we go on a mini run beating New Orleans, Sacramento and Utah to secure our spot. Finally we drop the last two to the Warriors and Clippers.

New Orleans and Sacramento are potential disasters because we struggle against good bigs and Davis and Cousins could each steal a game from us. The Bulls with their terrible offense could be a good team we could steal a win from in reverse.

Agreed. If we go 6-5, Dal & Phx would have to go 9-2 to knock us out, & they both have some tough games remaining. 7 of Dal 11 are vs WC playoff teams. 6 of 11 for Phx. Brutal. We just need to win the games we're supposed to on paper. We need to win games like tonight vs Orl, who's lost 9 straight & in tank mode.

At this point, I'm hoping we do drop a spot or two. I would rather be in the sixth or seventh spot. We have a much better shot at beating San Antonio or even LAC. If it's Houston, we will be done in five games.

No we're not because if we win the lottery, we get a top 3 pick.
Not in playoffs. Spurs and Clippers will be tougher than Rockets in playoffs. Rockets haven't won a playoff series in 5 years. I'd rather play them.

Really? That surprises me. I think the Rockets will be allowed to get away with murder and the refs will screw us. They seem like the toughest matchup for us. I think the Clips might underachieve, the Griffin, Jordan can play like total goobs sometimes and Crawchuck can shoot them out of games. And for some reason, we always play the Spurs well.

Atlanta has been playing better. I'm worried about that game. Chicago on 4 in 5 nights will most likely be a loss.

We have to go on a 5 game(ish) winning streak with all those winnable games in april before GS and LAC... Or else it could get dicey.

The schedule is suddenly bad for us. Can we really expect to win in Utah with this group? The games against Chicago, GS. LAC, Memphis, and Phoenix look like losses. Atlanta is in playoff fight. Our season is like game where you jump out by 35 points in the second quarter but now there's 4 minutes left in the game, and we're up 1 without the ball. Can the team handle this kind of pressure?

I totally did not expect this team to choke tonight like this. Lopez is getting destroyed in the paint, Jefferson and now Vucevic. Atlanta becomes scarier cause Millsap has always given us trouble, if Teague gets it going with the pick and roll and Korver starts raining threes we could be in for a long night.
