Kevin Love can become a free agent in 2015 and appears one of the more likely players to move teams even though he has downplayed the possibility of leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“You know, my parents live there and they had me there,” Love said of Los Angeles. “It’s not my fault. So, I don’t really care about that right now. I just go out there and play and don’t think about it.”

A sources familiar with Love's thinking says he's enamored with the idea of being “big time in a big city,” and that list of potential places he’d seek includes Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.

Both the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are projected to have max cap space in 2015, while the Chicago Bulls could have enough assets to acquire Love via trade.

Love's scoring is great and we neeed scoring but if we are really bringing Donnie Darko over I'd rather pump more money into a 2 and/or 3who can handle the ball distribute AND score.

Love is a rare talent. He's a 25 year-old "stretch 4" who is elite in terms of both rebounding and getting to the line.

    There aren't many like him.

Give Thibs that Minny roster, and they'd be favorites to win the championship.

Or would he bench Love for Taj for half a game?

Both parts were serious. They're paying Boozer $16M, and he's a former all-star and has been a near all-star for us. But he doesn't play starter minutes.

I blow my nose at you, english pig dog.

Come back and I'll taunt you again.

And when Thibodeau is giving Boozer minutes he's running him all over kingdom come chasing after point guards. There is no defensive system in the league that is worse for Boozer's skill set and physical makeup than the Bulls'.

I agree, Denny. If you're committed to Thibodeau as coach of this team you need two bigs who are capable of playing his defensive schemes. Kevin Love is a size smaller than Boozer and not much quicker.

Maybe the franchise should change its coach and its schemes. If we're not ready to have that discussion than Love isn't a wise option. And Love knows that, which is why it's never going to happen.

You got my point. Thibs does play Boozer, even starts him. He starts two other sieves on defense as well. But I don't think he's getting the max value out of Boozer.

And the Monty Python reference in my last post wasn't directed at TB#1 in any way :)

    Seriously?

Thibs is asked if he'd prefer a lockdown defender or mind boggling scorer and he'd choose the scorer every time. So he says. Seems to be who he plays, too.

If he wanted defense, he'd be starting Snell at SF or Jimmy at SF and Snell at SG.

That Boozer, Kirk, and Dunleavy play so much and the team is #2 on defense says more about Thibs' schemes than it does about those three guys as stellar defenders.

I actually think Denny's on to something.

We all know Thibs is married to his defensive schemes and that's not going to change. More than anything those schemes rely on agile big men who can see the floor and cover space very well.

In this environment Taj is a virtuoso.

On defense Kevin Love has a lot more in common with Boozer than Taj.

From nba.com, here's the ranking of big men and opposing FG% at the rim, from worst to first:

    [/ATTACH]

Boozer and Love are damn near worst in the league, rounding up the rear with the likes of Kelly Olynyk and Zaza Pachulia. (If you're interested, Taj and Noah are 10th and 11th best in the league).

I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if there were times when Thibs chose to go with Taj over Love.....and Love being pissed about it.
