All we did all forth quarter was run screens around the three point line!! I did not see one f**king cut to the basket. The Suns just pushed us further and further out. That's on stouts and no one else. And we choke under pressure now. First round exit guarantee!!! Stotts needed to move away from his system and bang down low with Lopez and Aldridge all game and punish them for playing small. Put Batum at the two and Robinson at the three and score in the paint. Stop settling for threes that you cannot make under pressure!!!!

Not sure how that lineup would have fared defensively.

you are correct. Lots of foul trouble. My point is we just need to go inside against phoenix. There is no excuse for larmarcus not banging like he was against memphis. Maybe he hurt his butt again.

We tried to beat them at there game three times in a row and barely won once. My point is why continue with the same strategy

Good call on the offensive strategy for Portland. Phoenix knew exactly what was coming and defended it perfectly.

Hou/LAC will have this offense figured out by game 3

I'm just not excited for the playoffs as I don't see a scenario where Portland wins

We beat them because Dragic was injured.

I've always been an outspoken critic of Aldridge's deep jumpers. It almost seems like a sign of laziness.

I don't think it's a sign of laziness. I think he settles when the defender won't let him get into the paint. He SHOULD pass the fucking ball if he can't establish good position, but instead he just jacks it up. It's poor judgement, not laziness.

Then he should go stand 10 feet from the hoop, watch Lopez fight to deflect the opponent's shot, and take the uncontested rebound to bolster his stats.

When the guards amble away from LA, leaving him with no good angle to pass out of the inevitable double team, there's not much he can do. It's like our opponents have all passed geometry, but our guards haven't.

He's not a good passer, and his teammates probably know it. If I've noticed anything, it's that players recognize when they're playing with a good passing big man and they usually take advantage. LA is not a good passing big man. This could also be part of Stotts' offense because there's a ton of standing around when LA has the ball.

I call BS on this. Aldridge can go into beast mode where he is attacking the rim, and then you see other times that he just disappears.
I cant count how many times over the year that Aldridge could have established deep post position, but he never fights to maintain it. He lets himself get pushed out to the 12-15 foot range time after time after time....

I call bullshit. Lamarcus has a terrific sense of when to shoot and when to pass. It's not his fault if his teammates aren't doing what he thinks they should be doing...

People are finally starting to see this? I've been commenting on this for weeks (months?) now. It happens in nearly every 4th quarter. And yes, it IS on Stotts. Also, it's on the OFFENSIVE side of the floor - the only side of the floor he's suppose to be good on. And yet, he's not that good if after months of seeing the same thing happen he can't figure out how to counter it. The Playoffs are going to be a mess for him.

Defense was our problem, not offense. We didn't stop the ball in transition. We let them get to the hoop almost every time. Disgusting.

I bolded the part that I see happening a lot.

Damian entry passes into LA, then runs back towards the top of the 3-point line, singles for Nic to come behind him, but they're barely moving, almost walking. All the while LA is trying to jockey for a shot but yesterday just choked.

It would be a lot better if we had cutters, etc, but the scenario I wrote above happens more often than not.
