It's worth getting the details right. "Impeach" is analogous to "indict." Bring charges. I was just as hard on riverman.
I can agree with that position, too. The Mainstream Media certainly isn't going to teach people these things. There are dummies on the right who think that the House should impeach Obama. What a horrible and fatal decision that would be, politically, because the media and the Senate will just laugh at it, which they should. I don't even know what he could be impeached for at this point, so it's moot. He's made terrible decisions, and is pushing the EO to its legal limit (and likely beyond), but other than some lies he's told, the Dems have inoculated Obama from anything considered impeachable. I think they either send him golfing during the day when he's not campaigning, and in big meetings, he watches SportsCenter with Reggie Love and is briefed if it won't implicate him.
If the house has a compelling case, it is their duty to impeach. They'd get nationally televised and heavily watched unfiltered airtime to make their case. If it's compelling, the senate would be pressured to remove. But I don't see a compelling case. Elections have consequences, and we are stuck until his term is up.
FWIW-Spoke to tax guy last night, Obamacare has definitely increased my taxes by at least a couple thousand . . . and that wasn't even the worst news. Painful tax year for T0B
That's the killer. Made no more than the year before . . . but taxes way up (relative to other increases I have seen in my tax statements throughout the years). Oh well: First I didn't vote for Obama so can't blame myself (like I have any impact on an election anyways) and second is I could be a hell of lot worse off than I am and I really do have the country to thank for my very modest fortune. But it does mean less discretionary income for me this year. Looks like I'm doing cheap vacations, and less dining out and Blazer games this coming up year.
And please tell me you did glean from that article that 3.6MM fewer are insured than at the end of the EBA (Evil Bush Administration), didn't you? Of course you didn't. Next you'll be parroting the line that the deficit has declined at a record rate under our Dear Leader.
I've always asked the question are you better off this year than last. Maybe it the lack of raise but for the first time in a long time I can say I was better off last year than this year. I should say it is not drastically different and if it is for the better of the country it will be worth it . . . but is Obamacare better for the country as a whole? Personally I'm in a wait mode before I come to my conclusion.
You must be one of those making over $250K then. Cause, I'm pretty sure the Prez said nobody else's taxes would go up by one dime. Go Blazers
In a related story, I caught an article on pbs, that the state of oregon had approved a 30 percent rate hike on long term care policies. The insurance companies had requested a 45% hike and stated that profits had suffered due to higher health care costs, and unusually low interest rates Second story touched on the fact that when insurance companies had set the rates on current health care policies, they had used a model that projected obamacare in a favorable light, and that there were several indicators pointing towards rate hikes for next year.
President Obama made a lot of promises regarding Obamacare. I'm waiting for one of them to come true.
So, as long as you're okay, fuck everyone else? The latest statistics state that 4.2MM people were dropped from their current health care plan.
If you got that through work, you are likely to be one of 25M to 50M people who will lose their employer coverage next year.
