I forgot that you channel John Canzano when someone points out your hairbrained ideas are hairbrained.

Wow, pulling the card of someone I don't read? I didn't know you were so desperate.

The fact is almost any team can make the pitch you did, but it means squat. We have almost no corporate sponsorship compared to other small cities and it would be a great excuse to get a team to move to Seattle, because they'd capture our market as a default. We also have an aging stadium and there's no appetite for public funding of a new one.

It sucks, but we'd be on the list.

Well then the problem isn't the number of teams, it's the dispersion of talent. That is what should be addressed imo.

Only 1 sub500 in playoffs this year. Wolves wouldn't make playoffs if we took top 16.

I think your talking about Brooklyn. I'm talking about the Knicks. The Clipps made it and the Lakers didn't. That's still 4 major franchises in the NBA. Counting along with Boston and Detroit.

Huh? The Knicks are out of the playoffs, which means they're in the lottery.

Show me where the Knicks have a lottery pick in the year 2014. Thats what kingspeed referenced, and that's where BGD changed the foundation his argument.

And then he changed it to include Detroit (not one of the 4 biggest markets in the NBA), as a "major franchise". Not sure how Detroit became a "major franchise".

The top 4 market teams (by city, so LA and NY are counted once) are New York, LA, Chicago and Philadelphia. Then Dallas, SF/Oakland, Boston, Atlanta, WDC and Houston.

    THEN it's Detroit.

Not sure how Detroit is considered a major franchise.

BGD, the Knicks first round pick goes to Denver.

Then Denver has the choice of conveying that pick to Orlando.

I guess I misread the post. I thought it was referring to the thread where someone stated this was the first year the L*kers, Knicks and Celtics all missed the playoffs.

Exactly. They aren't in the playoffs OR the lottery. That's the price for picking up Melo.

No, it doesn't. Denver has NY's pick.

Yes, they all missed the playoffs but the Knicks don't have a pick so for all intents and purposes, the Knicks aren't in the lottery.
