Taking a page out of LA's book, this is just yet another slight at our team. Massive comeback victory when they all said we didn't have a chance, a career performance by our often underrated all star, and all those fuckers in HOU (and apparently, NY) can talk about is a foul call. whatever. What are they going to say when we win game 2?
Game changing play???? Fine, call the foul on Freeland, Dwight misses both FTs, the Blazers run out the clock and win by one. OK, it would have changed the final score, but not the result. BNM
We'll say, "Wow, Beelzebub is a much better ice skater than I expected!". Or perhaps, "I always wondered what a cross between bacon and buffalo wings would taste like; now I can find out."
How about the two obvious goal tends? That's 4 points that should have counted. You're right, no overtime.
LOL at the bitter Rockets fan. How a Rockets fan can actually complain about the officiating is beyond me. It was terrible. Last night. For BOTH teams. The Rockets have been gifted calls all year - Harden didn't just magically arrive with the flopping reputation overnight. There were a lot of missed calls, both ways. Howard got away with a ton of things, including mugging Robin Lopez (somehow Lopez was called for the foul and a T), goaltending, etc. All of these things ultimately impacted the game, arguably as much as the incorrect Howard foul call. The game wasn't lost on one missed call. Sorry you're angry and you feel that one bad call (which would have put a horrendous free shooter at the line) cost you the game. But that would not only mean you're angry, it'd mean you were incorrect and unreasonable, as well.
OMG, they really are fucking delusional. Fine, play it over. Let Dwight add two more missed FTs to his line. We get the rebound off the second missed FT, they foul us and we end up winning by even more. They seem to forget that fouling Dwight actually works in our favor and won the game for us. Now suddenly, with the game on the line, he's going to channel his inner Calvin Murphy and calmly sink a pair of FTs? Right... BNM P.S. Apparently, they also think Aldridge's 6th foul should have been a flagrant.
I think that the NBA should apologize for calling a foul on Nic when Howard fouled Joel, and calling a foul on Wesley when Harden was shooting a 3, and kicked out his leg (which is against the rules). But does anyone else expect Damian go have 2 quick fouls called on him in game 2? Like, within the first minute of the game.
So did Houston have to send this in to get a response, or does the NBA just look at certain plays? Makes mo sense because there were poor calls....including that one, both ways
That is a good question. For them (both the NBA and Houston itself) to act like this was the difference between a W and an L for Houston, is silly. Howard could've missed both FT's. He could've made one and Portland could've made a game winning shot anyways. He could've made both and Portland could've made a game winning shot anyways. It seems like Houston, their fans and players (and the national media) are just trying to come up with some excuses for why they lost game 1. The blown call didn't erase a 13 point lead in the 4th, or a 6 point lead in OT. Houston did.
The refs awarded 0 FTs to Houston in the 1st half and made a bad call in our favor to win the game and you guys are STILL whining about the refs??
They shot more free throws in the second half than we did in the whole game. learn the game, then post.
Be nice, King is just in one of his contrarian moods. He does this every so often. Tomorrow he'll be criticizing everyone for not being super positive about things and posting about the team.
