He basically did, by referencing the Tough Shit game: Forward LaMarcus Aldridge said he heard about it, and that the same thing has been done to him. “My goaltend on Kevin Durant two years ago when we were No. 2 in the West they said wasn’t a goaltend,” Aldridge said. “It ruined our season. After that, we lost 10 out of 12. It’s happened to all teams before.” He didn’t have a problem with the league admitting the error.
My problem with the league admitting the error in Game 1 is that they singled out one call that went against Houston as an error, which is ridiculous in a game with so many bad calls/non calls against the Blazers.
I'm starting to take it the other way. Why should the league apologize to the winner? Apologize to the loser as consolation, because the win stands, period. It's patting their fanbase on the head and saying "I know, kid... life's not fair. We shouldn't have fouled out Dwight. But, you see... Portland still won."
Yeah, I get that too, but I don't like any acknowledgement that is one-sided and might influence the calls in future games.
It is what it is. Maybe Houston starts the game with These Refs Suck, and the refs show them what-for. It's all going to be a moot point at tipoff, I think.
During the first half of game one, when it was pointed out Houston had shot no free throws, I took that as a very bad sign. If your strategy is to not foul the home team, it's going to come back to haunt you later when the refs try to "even it up". Which is exactly what happened. It's the same feeling I get when we are killing a team on their home court early in the game. You know the refs are going to mount a home team comeback, giving them momentum. It's the way of the NBA. I'd rather have a close game, then a level playing field at the end to try to earn the win. I had that bad feeling when we got the first quarter lead in game one. But it quickly went away when our subs took the floor. Aye-aye-aye.
fuck it, let them think it was all the refs in game 2. It will make beating them that easier. We didn't even play that well outside of Dame and LA.
Houston fans are so fucking idiotic. Pre game run they predict a rockets sweep. After game one they say rockets in 5. After game two they say rockets in six....get real...
You have to admire their confidence. Any time now the refs will stop favoring us and giving us these games!
To be fair, it should be Howard/Jones/Asik <---- these are the players that have been thrashed by LA.
To be fair it doesn't matter who's guarded him, pretty sure everyone in the nba is afraid of la right about now...
How is it crazy Houston has two of the most fouled players in the NBA in Howard and Harden so seeing crazy high fta from them is not surprising.
McHale denies it, but it's so obvious that "generating fouls" is just another word for flopping around, and - AND - that is way more important to their offense than they contended earlier. Without the refs propping them up, they're pretty normal.
The refs swung the game 10 points in Houston's favor alone, just by not calling 5 massively obvious travels. (then they call it on Batum)
Oh god, the stupidity hurts my head I swear rockets fans started by predicting a sweep, after game 1 they thought rockets in 5, now they act as if they think it's rockets in 6... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=253490
