Too legit to quit. Love this kid. Stepped up and D'd up harden a lot. I wish the final shot was him instead of batum, we might still be playing in 15th over time.
Lillard had 79 points, 23 boards, 22 assists in 3 games. Oscar Robertson is only other guy with those stats in first 3 playoff games. Wow!
In the middle of the season, I was having a debate with a friend about whether Lillard was a top-tier superstar on the Chris Paul type of level. I said Lillard was a tier below them midseason, but he has easily been the best point guard in the playoffs. I can definitely see him being arguably the best guard - not just point guard - in the league at some point of his career.
He'll need to get a lot better on defense to be able to make that claim, but he has the quickness to be a good defender. He needs to be taught how to defend, and that begins by bending your knees and getting into a defensive stance.
Thanks man! Glad to be able to discuss hoops with quality posters again. If Dolan doesn't interfere with Phil's plans then we have something to look forward to. History shows that's gonna be a big "if".
Dame is a superstar in my mind, just a very, very young one career wise. He's the real deal and has proven it along with LA in this playoff series. We have a great team. Nico was huge last night. That game went the distance.
I've seen him do that at times. There's possessions where I'll strictly watch Dame defend, whether that's off picks/off the ball, or on the ball... And I saw him get into a good stance. He's got it in him.
Haven't you been watching the games? How many points, rebounds and assists do you think he's gotten so far?
I knew what he meant, all he would had to have done was copy and paste what I posted into google and it would have brought up this, NBA - Lill' D joins the Big O Damian Lillard scored 30 points and added six rebounds and six assists in Portland's overtime loss in Game Three. So over the first three playoff games of his NBA career, Lillard has accumulated 79 points, 23 rebounds and 22 assists. The only other player in NBA history to generate that many points along with at least 20 rebounds and 20 assists over his first three playoff games was Oscar Robertson, who had 83 points, 35 assists and 33 rebounds over his first three playoff games while playing with the Cincinnati Royals in 1962. http://espn.go.com/espn/elias
You're right he is not the defensive presence or passer that Conley is, but he is a better shooter and scorer. Both players are great NBA PG's and both players teams have 2 wins in the playoffs. Conley also has the best sportsmanship in the NBA.
