In thinking about it, what would you all do if Paul Allen said something like that? I think I would have to give up my season tickets at a minimum and work on a petition to have PA sell the team. I love this team so much, it would kill me.

Thing is, how was it any different BEFORE this came out? Everyone knew he was a racist and a general piece of shit before this happened. A player trying to get out of his contract NOW because it's a hostile work environment would be like someone signing up for 2 years of the army, and then trying to get out of it when he's going to be sent to fight in a war because it's not safe. It was the same shitty work environment with a douchebag of an owner before hand. If they didn't think that was the case, they had their head in the sand, or were fine with it because he paid them more.

And my above is in NO WAY condoning what he said. And would love for the league to just give him the boot. But they probably should have looked into it a while ago, also.

 

The guy is a piece of shit. There have been other examples of him being a piece of shit. The NBA will decide what it wants to do. They aren't going to let players out of their contracts though. They will want the team to be as valuable as possible if they choose to seize the team. I could see the NBA buying him out and finding a new owner.

 

That could take years, and again, that opens up many unintended consequences. The NBA has no jurisdiction if a player sues. Where is it written in the CBA that the owners can void a player's contract by voting a simple majority?
