I think fans should ride the refs for specific blown calls, and series of blown calls, in the hopes of getting them to focus better. But I agree Platy, no need for the insulting chants that are sure to backfire.
What an amazing story. It sucks that he's killing us, but how can you not be amazed by what this kid has done?
BIG difference between an established player like KG and a D-Leaguer who just shot his first NBA free throws.
Context matters though for Troy...you are getting a chance as young kid to play in NBA playoff basketball with NO EXPECTATIONS. Damn right he's going to shoot free and easy. If we told CJ or Will "hey, get in there and do what you can, no worries you are getting 10 mins straight up go nuts." ...they might produce similar results. But alas we can't do that...we have expectation. Its why T-rob has been used in limited time despite good energy..feels like Scotts doesn't want to press his luck. As for the Mo thing...yeah words likely were not necessary and I think he SHOULD have said something to what happened (unless it happened off court maybe)...even a brief, "there was this play/issue in the <whatever quarter>" and leave it at that for us to find, review and see where he came from with it. The whole "they know what they did" bit is overdone. I like toughness, and I like Portland stepping up to the cheap crap Houston is doing...commentators on both channels mentioned at least once about how this series will get more and more chippy...but lets do tough with legit cause, Mo should have given it context.
We're up 3-1. It doesn't matter what he did or what he said. All you do is reply "3-1" or "scoreboard" and you win. There is nothing they can say. You don't go over to their sideline as they're trying to walk off the court and try to continue stuff. You fume in the lockerroom and tell your teammates what he said or did. Then you make sure it's taken care of in Game 5.
2 questions. 1) is thread title racist way to say lin guarding mo? 2) why did barton hold mo back? This was the peoples champs chance at some playoff minutes.
When he first came in the game in game 3, I got a bad feeling he was going to make some shots just based on his obvious skill in shooting the ball. The amazing part to me is just his poise. The Blazers have had some guys who could drain shots in D-League and in practice, then they get into the game and tighten up. Not this guy. He walked into that pressure cooker and calmly just gets in position and makes shots. That's pretty special.
Agreed. I actually foresaw it coming when Parsons fouled out. It was an ominous feeling. Dude has the same demeanor as Dame. Cold as ice.
What an overblown bunch of nothing. First reports after the game were that Harden and Williams were in a fight, and then you see the video, and I'm wondering "that's it?" Was it ideal, no, but it's hardly worth bashing Mo Williams over, especially since he played a huge role in the win.
Yep. Put away the chai tea machine and drive the mini van off a cliff. Grow a set soccer moms. Thks is war. Warriors gonna get heated.
Maybe Mo was trying to get in the head of Daniels? Daniels is shooting 64% from 3pt, and has a 90% TS so far in the series, so maybe getting in his face will rattle him, and he'll cool down a bit. This guy is pulling shots out of his ass, and Houston is still losing games. Imagine if he misses a few. Also, for whoever earlier last week posted about being Von Wafered, well, Daniels will see your Von Wafer, and raise x100.
...double repped! I was telling everyone to stop chanting around me. Explaining that we are better than that. Side note, I also did not like the weak MVP chants that were coming early on in the game before LMA even had double digits...too early folks...wait until the end of a great performance and the game is in the bag at least!
Who gives a shit.... Trash talk is part of the playoffs. No punches were thrown. No contact was made. Sanctions? Suspensions? Get the fuck over it Houston. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a more whiny fan base.
I'd be looking at you like you were nuts. I bet you're a hoot to sit by. "Shhhhh, only cheer loudly when the game is in the bag!"
There is at least one Blazer fan in this thread who seems more upset at Mo Williams than his own teammates, or even Troy Daniels. Some people have impossible standards, and I find posters lecturing about what Mo Williams should do after the game to be so arrogant, I can hardly believe I'm reading it on this forum.
Are some of the Houston fans really talking like that? That's insane! And people call us soccer moms. ROFL
