They mentioned this during today's game. And after what he showed last night he deserved to be sent down. And IMO with his stats (122 base runners in only 79 innings with a career ERA over 6) he didn't even belong in the majors.
I haven't had time to review all Pitcher's in the Yanks Farm System, or to compare those Minor league Pitcher's stats in comparison to the current Roster. However, two Pitchers who glaringly stand out to me, who I'd like to see called up to the Bronx, and convert on Reliever to a Starting P role: Chase Whitley Games IP K’s Hits ERA BB’s WHIP 149 299 283 246 2.71 99 1.286 Began in 2010, current age 24, turns 25 in June, Playing in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, currently posting a 3.38 ERA in 18.2 IP, an overall Minor League .568 Win Pctg. Mark Montgomery Games IP K’s Hits ERA BB’s WHIP 110 149 221 101 2.11 66 1.123 Began in 011, current age: 23, turns 24 in Aug.-Playing in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, currently posting a 0.82 ERA in but 11.0 IP. Convert this kid to a starter. Not impressed with Shane Greene, and his 3 walks in 1 inning, which he never got out of by himself, rather via the long hook- I heard during the game, Greene appeared in last week: Shane was sent back to the Minor's to work on his control, which he had serious problems. Supposedly corrected his inability to hit the strike zone, called up, and whaddya know, he can't hit the strike zone if he was allowed to stand 30 feet away....sad...!
I could be wrong (though that's not very likely) but I believe if Pineda is out longer then his suspension they can call up someone to fill his roster spot.
To be honest, I really don't know, you got me over a barrel on this one... Hoping you could tell me, your opinion on this one...!
