My son and I attended the game. It's hard to describe the volume change at the end. The crowd just ignited. Amazing. People didn't want to leave. Everyone was standing there screaming. When we finally did leave, we were overrun by fans giving high-fives to strangers. Exiting the parking garage it was massive horns blowing. Driving away people were waving the rip city towels out their windows.

I've attended a lot of Blazer games over the years, and I can't think of a more energized crowd than the one I saw at that game.

I would have loved to be there. Damn!

On a side note, I'm pretty sure I yelled out "noooo!" when he made it. Weird.

Love that video. I was so far above that guy in the 3rd deck, all I could see was noise bouncing off of the ceiling! My reaction was to high-five those around me, and then be thankful that my wife has company parking at her work that's 3 blocks away from the RG so I could soak in the noise and not worry about getting out of the parking garage.

Being there was worth the price of admission for sure. Shit was like a family reunion. Hugging and high giving everyone in a 5 yard vicinity of you..

Want to know why Portland is the best NBA town and has the best NBA fans? Because fan reactions to getting the #1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft were nearly as emotional for us Blazer fans as the reaction to winning the first playoff series since 2000.

I imagine he enjoyed his post-game appletini very much.

I didn't jump up and down. I was so bumfuzzled and have been so conditioned to the Blazers coming up short, it took me a second to figure out that shot put us ahead. It took another second to figure out that we won the game. And yet another second to figure out we weren't going back to Houston and the series was over.

When I watched the replay, first I had to see if it left his hand in time. And then--no joke--in slow mo after they had already announced "Blazers Win!" I kept watching it to make sure the shot was good.

Man, the psychologicial conditioning issues I have with this team would feed the families of several therapists.

Shear bedlam. Mothers weeping. Strangers kissing strangers. Enemies united as one. I wonder how many children were conceived that night?
