Lillard on Loop--that's a lot of excellent writing there.

I like this one the best:

I was at a birthday party a few weeks ago and Nate Robinson was there. After my obligatory "Huck The Fuskies" comment, I asked him about Roy. He says he's struggling with retirement--the mind is willing, but the body isn't able.

Once you have enough money to buy pretty much everything you want, it becomes unimportant. I bet Roy would give back every penny of that contract to have a couple more years with healthy knees.

That's....really depressing. I still get sad watching Roy highlights.

What is so similar with Dame and Roy is their cold blooded nature. It's amazing to think that in such a short time we had two All Star youngsters who were so mature beyond their years.

I'm not sure specifically why, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth about how Roy left the team. Didn't he talk some shit about the organization on his way out?

I can't do comparisons about Roy vs. Lillard. Roy has a special place in my heart that I can never take out. There have been some epic moments throughout his career that further stapled my fandom as a Blazerfanatic. So I would just like to express I love them both. They are both extremely special players that have become something special to Portland.

what if...somehow...roy didnt retire...that team still imploded and we still traded gerald wallace for that pick. roy miraculously came back and we had roy, aldridge and damian...my blazer dream team.

Or.... There was some medical breakthrough where they can repair him to 100%? His window comes up and he rejoins this team in a year or 2?

It was a brutal decision to cut him via amnesty. Of course he was bitter. In his mind, he could still play. I wouldn't expect anything less. B-Roy is a hell of a competitor.

In his heart, I'm sure he understands why the Blazers had to do it. It doesn't make it any easier to accept, however.

Of all the ridiculous fantasies (platonic, you savages) I sometimes have about the team, this is one of my favorites. Bionic Roy backing up Damian Killard.

I think Lillard is better than Roy was, I love Roy but he was an ISO guy and needed that to be effective. Lillard is much more well rounded on the offensive end imo (especially now that he is actually finishing at the hoop like Roy).

Oh and Lillard is far more marketable. That may help bring bigger names in the future though Free Agency.

Yeah but he was talking shit like the team deceived him about his chances of playing.

I like that it took Dame like half a game to figure out how to handle heavy physical playoff defense. He just seems to download player skills like he's in The Matrix.

In 2015 a new algae will been found in New Zealand that promotes cartilage growth in knees.

    They are SO similar

    Both 4 year guys

    Both drafted 6th

    Both relatively overlooked

    Both CLUTCH AS HELL

And like you said, same demeanor, same attitude, same maturity level. It's crazy. People always joke about Lillard being Roy reborn but when you really look at it, it kind of makes sense.

I agree with this. It's one thing that really separates the two. Roy was a superstar, but he was never going to be marketed by the NBA as one of those "marquee" stars. Aldridge is the same way.

Dame though? He's probably going to be the first guy in Portland since Drexler to have that "marquee" billing.

Dame is charismatic. I don't think Roy was charismatic.
