I finally saw guys starting to get pissed off. It only took two games and three quarters, but they finally started getting angry. Pride kicked in. Proud of Nic. Proud of Wes. Those guys showed a ton of heart. Dame started to finally look like Dame in the 4th. Fuck the refs for killing every single one of our runs.
I agree fuck the refs. But there is one more bright side. We have a Chance to make nba history and come back from an 0-3 deficit. Just keep winning the next one.
Yeah, I think it was pride and anger that woke them from the two game shock the Spurs put them in. Out-working and showing more energy than the Spurs was the only way they were going to compete in this series. Need some sort of emotion to generate that. Wouldn't have minded Stotts taking some T's in San Antonio to try and draw that out of them. That said....man the Spurs are just playing on a different stratosphere. Their fans would probably disagree, but from an outsider's perspective, this is the best I've ever seen them play in the entire Duncan/Parker/Ginobli era. How in the hell did Dallas push them to 7 games??
Dallas woke the giant man. Honestly, I think their lives flashed before their eyes. You can tell they're playing like a team that finally realized that their window is closing. How many more seasons can Duncan play? How many more for Manu? How many more for Parker? I think as soon as Duncan retires they're going to break them up, so it's obvious that Parker is playing like a man with something to lose.
I was depressed but now all pressure is off. Just win. No more math, no more guessing. Just. Fucking. Win.
Honestly, I've quit trying to put an expiration on them. I thought they were nearly finished since the start of the Roy era. We were going to be their heir apparent. Now we're onto our next up-and-coming core and they're better than ever. I thought Ginobli was done after his abysmal Game 6 against the Heat last year. He looked so old and done. Today he's knifing through the lane like at any point in his prime. It's not a nice accusation, but I've suspected Duncan's been on low levels of HGH and steroids the past few years, and now maybe Ginobli. I mean, it's borderline Roger Clemens-like the way they're turning back the clock. But, hey, more power to them. It's good for the league, although not so good for us at the moment. They can play for another 10 years and it wouldn't surprise me.
Come on. Lol Duncan had a bad case of plantar fasciitis and a bad knee from 2009 through the 2012 season. He lost a lot of weight, I think over 20 pounds, and that helped him revive his career. Manu was hurt the last few years too. Now he's healthy and it shows he still has some left in the tank. They test for HGH and steroids. If we're talking about Labron and Kobe maybe I would agree, because they bring in ratings, but not two boring players to watch like Manu and Tim. The league hates our Spurs because the big networks and their sponsors hates us. Our last 3 championships we won had the lowest ratings ever for a NBA Finals. Now if Tim was breaking the backboard after flying in for a dunk, then you would have something here.
Our lack of bench play. For some reason our bench didn't show up for games 1 through 6. The reason I came in here before this series started and predicted a series win for the Blazers, we were 4-4 the last 8 games of the regular season, and they looked terrible in the Dallas series, I thought we peaked too early with that 17 win streak. We got you guys in half-court game when you guys have the ball,... BIG advantage for us. You guys have to push it on every possession like Dallas did. It's looking like your coach has no clue on how to play us. You guys have the tools to give us problems but those tools are not being used right.
San Antonio is putting on a clinic out there. They make the right plays and seem to be swarming on defense. I have no beef with losing to these guys compared to a team like the Clippers or Rockets. They look really good out there and I'm surprised at how they struggled so much against Dallas. I'd like to have more faith that we will turn it around but these 3 games seem like groundhog day over and over. The sequence of events in all three games feels like a carbon copy of game one. Although it really sucks to be losing in this fashion, I'm so happy with the progress tthis team and franchise has made this year. New attitude, new medical and training staff, new food options, new goals. I like where we are headed.
What are the point differentials in the second halves of each games? Game 1: Blazers 53, Spurs 51 Game 2: Blazers 46, Spurs 44 Game 3: Blazers 63, Spurs 58 So, if we can get the NBA to discount the first half, we're actually up 3-0 in the series!
