From a Rangers standpoint no soft plays and no soft goals tonight. They need to come out skating hard in front of the home crowd and get 30+ shots on MAF. Scoring the first goal has been the key in round two of the playoffs. Teams doing so are winning every time.
My condolescences to MSL and his family. With that said, If these professional athletes need a tragedy to rally around, they should pick another career. They are playing to reach the ultimate goal in their profession. If that's not enough motivation then run them off this team that we are all fans of.
If you can't get pumped for a huge playoff game in front of your home crowd I agree. Find something else to do.
Teams scoring first are 18-0 in round 2. Enough said I think. First goal is HUGE. We need it to get some positive vibes and MO going at home after the no show in game 4. The Rangers need to win this game IMO. If they win tonight and get to a game 7, let the chips fall where they may. But if we are sitting here at 9:30 tonight with the season over after we go 0-3 at home in the 2nd round, every single one of us will be VERY angry, and rightfully so. We need to show up hard at home tonight and get this series to an anything can happen game 7. You know Pitt is going to come out focused and ready to play a big game after their poor effort in game 5. So we need to match that, and exceed that, from the start. No slow starts or falling behind and trying to battle back. We should come out on fire at home, and exceed whatever extra fire the Pens have after their game 5 effort.
Papadoc, it is called "getting a second breath". The guys are always motivated but they were and are extremely tired with the "stupid" schedule. I am not making excuses but tragedy of St.Louis may have given them that "second breath" that comes out of nowhere. It is a sudden burst of energy which allows them to play harder than they possibly could. I am sure they are going to have a great game tonight and Nash will score finally. I am never positive about stuff but this team consists of great guys and they will win tonight. I also think St.Louis should get a C after this season. He is a true leader and an amazing person.
2009, All I can say about your response is that your comments are spoken like a true fan that never played sports on a high level. There is no such thing as a 2nd breathe as a professional athlete. Pasta is probably the only one on this board that will ever truly understand what I am saying. I did not play pro like Pasta but I did play on the #1 ranked baseball team in the Nation in 82-83. Florida Southern College. We were division 2. But we beat U of M 14-0 in Tigertown that year. We were supposed to play them in Coral Gables at the end of the regular season. They called 4 days before the game and cancelled. If we had beaten them again, they would have lost their #1 ranking in Div 1. My point is, every athlete knows it's a long season. There are going to be ups and downs. But when Post season comes, it's balls to the wall. There is no such thing as being tired. There is no such thing as a 2nd breathe. You go as hard as you can every time your # is called because it may be your last chance. And we were not playing for money. Our motivation was the love of the game. These guys are being paid millions of dollars to reach the pinnacle of their sport. If they need a tragedy to reinvigorate themselves, that's a sad state to be in as a pro.
This is recording…..Nash scores hat trick tonight, quiets the garden boo birds and realizing he's 6'4" 240lbs smashes every penguin he can reach into the boards dislocating malkins shoulder, giving cindy another concussion and forcing Neal to leave the game with an upper body injury. Oh yeah, Rangers win 6-1
Keep up the pressure. Hit them all over the ice. Forecheck the shit outta them. Make them not want to be out there against this team.
I don't really care so long as it's evenly called. rangers better be allowed to whack at MAF after the whistle though like the Pens were.
I felt like the jokinen call was a make up call for his "roughing" call. Refs need to let them play and only call what needs to be called. By the way, I feel like this whole fucking teams defensemen have been getting coached by Malik. Guy always was putting the puck in his own net.
