Regardless of whether we win or lose tonight, I'm really hoping that the veteran free agents in this upcoming offseason are looking at our team and thinking they could be the piece that gets us over the hump. It's obvious that we have a nice young core. We have two All-Stars, we won 54 games, and we got to the second round. Our biggest weakness, and everyone knows this, is our bench. I'm really hoping that veterans look at our roster and think they can come in and immediately make a difference. Knowing how close Neil is with players, I think he's going to be selling that hard this summer.
Ya I brought this up in the other thread. Still don't think we have the respect yet. Getting blasted out of this round has to leave a sour impression
Well, firstly, we're playing the #1 seed and a team that went to the WCF. Yeah, it sucks that we're getting blasted, but I think anyone with a brain can see our biggest problem is our bench. If I'm a guy who wants to win, I'm looking at this team and thinking I can make an immediate impact.
The Blazers will sweep the Spurs. The only advantage San Antonio has is their bench and that's not that important in the playoffs. I don't see anyway the Spurs can keep up with us.
Maybe I'm off base, but my gut feeling has always been that most players are looking for a team to get them over the hump, not the other way around.
I hope veteran free agents aren't taking notice If they are they're seeing that this Blazers team isn't close to winning a championship
People want to play. If you're a veteran, why would you go to the Clippers? That roster is completely stocked. There's no minutes to go around. However on the Blazers there is a very strong starting five, but a weak bench with a ton of free minutes to go around.
