I've never had a bad experience ordering used books. The books noted "Like New' usually are close to it. A few used books I've got from both Amazon or E-Bay were literally as good as new, or so it seemed. Not one blemish, tear, stain, crease, nada, no bukkae either. Now E-bay and baseball cards, I won't do it, to many switch outs, or cards that don't live up to their sloppy grading systems-(a post on that later).

Like 59 said, the sellers on both sites, are well regulated these days, especially when it come to books. Other items, one CAN get screwed. Not on DVD's, CD's, or books, I've found out. Seller's have been around long enough now, their ratings are indicative of the quality of product they will sale and ship.

With the exception of buying anything over a million bucks, that's what one gets screwed on-ex: Wayne Gretzky's T-206 Honus Wagner card, once attempted to sell on E-Bay. Even tho' it has been sold several times at Sotheby's, Llloyds, its been altered by trimming......(rendering it worthless, other than to the con-men who keep up its charade, saying its not).

E-Bay: = Buy a $20 used-new book, in great shape, or a pricy card in great shape, but its a fraud.

FYI, I ordered the copy labeled as very good on eBay. The one that was $6.73. It was also for charity which I hadn't noticed before.

Can't remember the last time I read a book though... probably hasn't been since I was forced to read books for courses in college... I have always hated reading... can read articles on line or in a paper, but much more then that and I can't sit there... Don't know why

I have a similar problem, but its more a phobia from having to use up to 3 or 4 different pairs of prescription glasses, to read. Being Diabetic at an early age, my eyes focus, vision can and does often change daily, from one pair of glasses to the next.

this alone wears my eyes out, to a point, I often overlook, or see things that don't exists, or don't see things that do exists, which I can't see.

Ever try to find your glasses in the morning, on the table, when you can't find them without 'em on your head. Not making excuses, but often a reason I mis-read posts.

What's that you say, you haven't quit reading since College? Hehe....I can't hear either....LOL....Ever Inspect an Airplane by Braille????/

...hammer, I promise you, after you read the first 40-50 pages you won't want to put the book down...and I promise you that you read it more than once.

I will be a Horse's Ass. I just got my book Fed-EX....It was the wrong book at that. I looked up my account on Amazon, found THEY delivered the wrong book. In lieu of "Yankee Century"-I got The "New York Times: Story of the Yankees". Not a bad book, 383 News Articles, Profiles and Essays from 1903 to Present (2012). I'm impressed with the book. HOWEVER, after contacting Amazon, informing them, THEY sent the wrong book, THEY WILL be sending a New Hard Cover Collectors Copy-Free of Charge, on top of that, I get to keep the other book too. Hey hey....sometimes fate works in mysterious ways.

I think the Yankee God's insisted I get both books. I'm not complaining....bonus..!!
This book is commonly available at most Public Libraries also:
