^^^ yup, he's a monster. As big as he is he must be a very imposing figure for opposing batters to face.

...49 Ks in 28 IP?...great FB and a knee buckling breaking ball.

Betances- looks like everything is just starting to click for this young guy...!

He's improved himself in pretty much every aspect since his Minor League years. Excellent Strike Out ratio to IP's, and BB's too, he's lowered his ERA, and increased his WP%.....hope he keeps it up. Get's some run support, and overwhelms batters....!

Correction, stabbed then shot and used his beamer as a weapon. The but job was gonna kill anyway he could. Also note he stopped when opposed, like all cowards that prey on others in victim zones, I mean gun-free zones. Another high functioning aspergers male, son of Hollywood director who co-directed the first Hunger Games movie...the one where kids kill other kids.

I'm guessing Rob is a good 90 min+ away from Santa Barbara, I'm around 2H away.

We are about 50-60 miles as the crow flies: (if a highway ran straight from here to there Isla Vista-Santa Barbara). Hwy 126 twists and turns until it takes 2 hours to drive that deadly canyon highway, to arrive in greater Santa Barbara

Highway 126 is still the deadliest highway in California. (which is the access highway to get from here to there).

I quit getting the Paper 2 years ago, and this is why...! I did pick one up 2 weeks ago, and regret doing so, as the Main Headlines read: (for this small valley of approx. 500-600,000 dwellers) -

(The newspaper stories below are but a small sample from the local paper, of the crazy mentality of society here in So. Cal. these days. Of course not every burb is a bad place, some real nice peaceful cities do exists in So. Cal, yet this is becoming the norm):

1st story-"42 year old Man shot dead, in the head by his neighbor as he rode his ATV. Shooter, used a 30.06 deer rifle hitting his neighbor in the head twice. Bullets penetrated the riders helmet. The shooter, had only been out of prison for one year after serving 8 years for a similar previous incident, in which he shot at two persons walking on his desert property". The Shooter, was NOT even supposed to own or have a gun in his possession. The Dead Man left behind a wife, and 3 children, ages 15 to 8".

2nd story-"27 year old man barricades himself in apartment after killing girlfriend, in shootout with L.A.Sheriff Deputies for 11 hours". After 11 hours of negotiations, the man came out of his apartment shooting at Deputies, and was met with a hailstorm of bullets, killing him immediately."

3rd story-"A Los Angeles Judge, and the County Board of Supervisors find, shooting of Knife wielding man, was justified. The Man was shot dead by Deputies, on Sunset Blvd. in April, as he threatened and tried to stab persons in Dollar Store, and on the sidewalk in front of the store, where Deputies terminated his life".

4th story-Rapists is released into town, after serving 20 years for 2 rapes and one strangulation after rape, in prior years. His Probation Officer stated to the Press and PD, the rapist VOWS to rape and murder, again. Sheriff Deputies have been dispatched daily to the rapists house to break up demonstrators, who want the rapist removed from this area. (as if they don't have a right to protests a rapist/murder who vows to kill again-go figure).

5th story-Local High School student test scores, show students amongst the most illiterate in the state, and Nation. Students scoring ranks 49th out of 50 states in the nation. State takes over control of public high school immediately as the School Board of Supervisors are given furlough notices. No date has been set for the Public School District Board of Supervisors, to reclaim the school.

6th and worst story of the day in that one f'king paper.
"A 38 year old man shot and killed his 10 year old son to death in the dark of night inside of their home. The family had been victims of two previous home robberies while they slept in previous months. Living in fear, the Father bought a handgun to defend his family in case of future break ins. Last night at 3 am, his wife woke her husband up, saying she heard a noise coming from the kitchen and living room. The husband grabbed his pistol, saw a shadow of a figure down the hallways, and without asking who goes there, he fired two bullets, which struck his son in the chest. The son was DOA, when the Paramedics arrived. Judge gives no sentence to Father, saying he will suffer the rest of his life. The father turned his gun into Police upon their arrival."

What was once a nice quiet Aerospace driven town, employing over 150,000 Aerospace Employees, is now one of the worst ghettos in California, with a 28 percent un-employment rate, while no business or industry has replaced lost Aerospace Jobs. Currently less than 8,000 Aerospace jobs exists, most of them at EAFB.

One cannot go ANYWHERE, without being approached by vagrants, homeless, pan handlers, vagrant drunks looking for change to buy more Thunderbird or MD20/20.

Why the PD doesn't clean up the streets blows my mind. one reason I live out in the middle of nowhere. I can see anyone coming for miles.....Why the cities do not put these people to work, even if its cleaning up the parks, streets, or many other things, odd jobs they could be doing, is sickening.

Funny fact, I recently took a 1 hour phone survey sponsored by UCLA. I was asked numerous times about the local gang problem. a very large percent of those gang banging local kids, at one time or another crossed my path on the Little League fields. Thus I know most of them, and they know me. I have NO problem walking right thru their packs, with no retribution. After all "its coach bob'. I told the survey person that, to her dismay, when she asked if I feared waling out of my door. I asked her why would I, she said gangs! I said hell no gangs do not bother me personally, I'm more afraid of stepping on a rattle snake than running into a gang banger...! No shit...!

This area has been the Foreclosure Capital of the USA over 10 years between 95-2008. It cannot bounce back, with its lack of commerce and jobs.

If California is a beacon of Society for the future of the States, then were in for even deeper shit to come....!

Thanks for the correction Tom.....only person I hear say Hot Load, is my Dad, and his buddy, now they are real antiques, I'm just a classic...

Speaking of powerful ballistics, and hollow points. 10 yrs back my little brother a LASD. Had a case of hollow points for his 9mm. They were labeled on the box "Black Widows". Hollow Points, unlike any I had seen. The bullet, had numerous indentations, where it would splay out when fired. a 9mm bullet would put a Silver Dollar size hole in its target, if human, the Black Widow, would rip the innards out of a person. The LASD and LAPD were only allowed to purchase and possess these bullets, (at least back then, they weren't available to the public)....the ACLU & NAACP got involved, threatened to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer, saying they were racists named ballistics. Rather than fight the issue, the manufacturer changed the names, to what, I'm not sure now, probably cock roaches BB's.
