An argument can be made that Dragic should have made it over Lillard this year I don't consider him a lock at all next year
Their numbers were almost identical, the Blazers had the more successful team which is usually the tie breaker. What exactly is the argument to be made for Dragic? He had a higher PER? He shot a better percentage? They had almost the exact same points, assists, and rebounds per game.
It will really hurt his trade value if he doesn't. Current all star vs former all star. The former all star makes it sound like he's fading or not as good. We should look at trading him while he is a current all star.
Dragic was more efficient a better defender and made a team everyone expected to be in full tank mode a threat to make the playoffs. Lillard was great but honestly at the all star break it was Dragic who deserved to go.
I think the main reason Dame got in was marketing around him being in all six events. Which is fucking fantastic news because it's the first time in 20+ years that a Blazer has been the benefit of NBA marketing.
because everyone expected a 33 win team last year to have how many wins @ the break? and get out to a.. 23-1 start? or whatever it was? Lillard was just another guy on the Blazers this year. Man I'm such a homer. Suns were in full on tank mode and almost made the playoffs. Blazers weren't expected to get in. Remember? 13 straight losses to end the season the year before? Blazers suck. Bottom line is Dragic will never make it over Lillard because Lillard has got more media attention in his first two years. Therefore his brand is bigger. Coaches will vote Lillard over Dragic pretty simple. The previous statement is made believing Lillard will have no injury issues ever.
Dragic played awesome in the playoffs this year. If only Horncek had given Channing Frye 22 shots/game!
Then the coaches aren't informed. You can go talk to them, if you'd like. You're just not informed, I suppose.
The only reason it was a discussion was because Lillard had a bad 3 week stretch before the AS break and Dragic just exploded for that 3 week stretch. Before that little stretch it wasn't even a discussion of Dragic over lillard for the AS game. Defense is never really thought of when picking the all-stars, or all NBA for that matter, and Dragic isn't a very good defender either. Better then Lillard yes but he gambles way to often and gets torched all the time.
Its really easy, instead of making posts like this one that make you look like an ass who is just trolling, to take 2m out of your life and actually bring up the stats to back up your arguements. http://www.basketball-reference.com...m=0&p1=lillada01&y1=2014&p2=dragigo01&y2=2014 Dragic is better in the advanced stats but they are very very similar to the point where its almost moot.
The coaches pick mostly on team success, not the individual players. Same records and Dragic probably makes the team over Lillard. Lillard can thank Aldridge for playing like a MVP and carrying the team.
