The first couple of summers, the telecast was okay. Then they decided we must be bored. So they had a super-long interview, lasting an entire quarter, with some boring human being. At first it was once a summer. Then it became every single fucking game. Unlike regular games, we don't know the players in Summer League. We can't just turn off the sound and recognize who is doing what. We desperately need the play-by-play guy to help us along. We're trying to evaluate young players, but we're lost for a quarter. That's 1/4 of the entire Summer League, since it's every game. If I could afford to throw a brick through my TV, I would, because I'm always angry while this is going on.
I wish Ha were in the Summer League and D-League. He has more experience now. He'd get at least a 10-day contract from some team, and I bet more. If Hasheem Thabeet and Meyers Leonard are in the NBA, Ha should be, too. Edit: I know, he's Korean, not Chinese.
Hey HCP, tell those fucks to stop ruining the game with a quarter-long interview every game. Nobody likes their focking, stoopid, stinking interviews.
If its Olshey or someone that can articulate an interesting point the interviews are good. If its somebody who is going to give bland answers just skip it. Only diehard fans will watch summer league so give us something more in depth. The type of interview that would fly over the heads of a viewers on a mainstream broadcast.
Are they doing a tournament again this year? We can have a parade when we win it all! That'll be a hell of a lot more meaningful then that stupid concert for drafting Oden or celebration for making the playoffs in '08. Hell I'd rather see the summer league banner then half the stuff up in the Rose Garden.
Thanks. I'm not the only one. Last summer, it was a topic of general complaint in this board's Summer League threads. Draco, as for Olshey being more listenable than others for 25 monotonous minutes, preventing us from following an entire quarter...uh, no, he's no different from other interviewees. Interviews at halftime are fine.
I am very interested to see Leonar_ Again, according to someone that saw him, during the Rockets series they had him on the "scout team" mimicking Dwight Howard, and they called him white Dwight because he dominated people on the low block. Hopefully a switch flipped and he can continue that, as well as playing defense
There's a lot of reasons why I'm excited to see summer league. CJ. TRob. Will. Crabbe. I really hope all these guys show some progress.
