The Yankees are a 5-6 game winning streak away from being serious contenders in the east but unfortunately with there anemic offense I just don't see that happening any time soon.
I constrain myself. If I really went off and gave my real thoughts on what Cashman has put together here they would ban be from the boards. Thankfully the Stanley Cup Finals will keep me from reaching that level for a little bit longer.
In a season where there is a lot of things wrong on a lot of teams, I still think our woes are a little more manageable, especially when you consider the front office's propensity to spend. I'd be more concerned if we had a 5-6 lead in the division and they decided to stand pat. As Rick has pointed out....a streak or two is the difference from the basement and the lead. Case in point...look at the sox and the losing streak followed by a win streak and back in the hunt.
as it stands now...in a 5 or 7 games series, we have 2 wins locked in with Tanaka. I'm not worried about ALDS. ALCS and WS are only an issue if the games are played as of roster status TODAY. One or 2 moves is all its going to take to give this team an advantage over the potential competition. 1/3 of the season still isn't an accurate trend line.
