nbadraft.net in general has pretty bad scouting info, and isn't very accurate. Draftexpress is way better.
There info is usually not often updated it is an interesting site for future drafts but by the time current draft comes around their information is dated.
nbadraft.net seems to be more of a fan site that uses hype rather than scouting. draftexpress actually goes to the combines and camps and does real scouting.
Two guys that I'd love to see us go after in this draft that I think are attainable are Gary Harris and Mitch McGary. I've always liked Smart a lot but I think a lot of other teams drafting in the lotto do as well. Another guy who intrigues me a lot is Elfrid Payton. He's supposed to be a lock down defender. Don't know much about Saric, would like to see more.
I am not sure what to think about Smart. Other than his size, what does he bring to the table? Maybe I just caught him on off nights. But he does not seem to be super athletic for a PG, he does not seem to be a great shooter or passer, or defender. I think he is OK at all of those, but will he be great at anything?
Comparing a freshman playing under Dean Smith in an era where players rarely left college after 3 years, let alone one year, to a one-and-done player like Wiggins doesn't really mean much to me. Tyler Hansbrough averaged 18/8 and shot 57% as a freshmen. Did that make him Karl Malone in the NBA? Some other great freshman seasons. Kenny Anderson, Georgia Tech Key Statistics: 20.6 ppg, 8.1 apg, 5.5 rpg, 51.5 FG percentage, 41.0 3-point FG percentage Wayman Tisdale, Oklahoma Key Statistics: 24.5 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.5 bpg, 58 percent FG percentage Chris Jackson, LSU Key Statistics: 30.2 ppg, 4.1 apg, 49 percent FG percentage None of these players ended up better than Jordan.
The only reason why I go to nbadraft.net is for their draft history section. I use it to look up past drafts, like 1996 (which I was discussing with PapaG).
If the Blazers don't end up with a draft pick(not specifically a lottery pick) then I will buy everyone in this thread a round of beers.
I'm in too, but I also think that Portland will end up with a pick in the draft. Probably a late first if they really like someone, or if not, a 2nd to draft some overseas player to be maybe brought over in 2 to 4 years.
You can get draft history from basketball-reference, with the nice ability to then clock over and look at a guy's stats. Best part of nbadraft.net is looking back on old comparisons. Some are ok, but so many are just ridiculous. Josh McRoberts, a less athletic Chris Webber. lol.
a big man with injury issues was the hub of this franchises only championship & boy do I wish Sabas had came over earlier to join Clyde & Co STOMP
