Lets start off with I love LA, but Dame is our leader and he gots to go. Ship LA off to Cavs for the #1 Pick, during draft, take Andrew Wiggin <------Freaking Enders Game, RIGHT???, Ok now we trade Nic Batum to the T-Wolves for Love <------Bring the boy HOME! So we start Dame , Wes, Wiggin, Love, Rolo. Wiggin will be explosive at times and infuriating another, but he has a HUGE upside, in the end the pain will be worth it, now lets talk about the bench. Pry Avery Bradley away from the Celtics, and sign Pau Gasol, PAY THE MAN AND HE WILL COME. Bench is as so, Bradley, CJ, CLAVER <------Dude can ball, LET HIM PLAY, T-rob, and Pau Gasol. This idea is golden, we get vets with exp, young pieces for our future. Am I crazy?
I like it. Aldridge for Wiggins, Batum for Love. A 2 and 3 for a 3 and 2. Minny would jump at that like candy. Much better than the nothing they expect to get. Until Camby, I thought we couldn't retain a star like Love in our small market, but Paul Allen overpays and that holds them.
So LA is worth the top pick yet Love is only worth Batum? You also do not explain how we get Bradley or Gasol. Crazy? No. In violation of the "Do not post ignorant trade threads until you have 2500 posts" rule? Definitely.
This is an idea that was already bounced around. It would take more than Nic to get Love though, so the deal with Cleveland would have to include more talent to send to Minnesota. Would Minnesota bite on Nic, Waiters, and Thompson? Or maybe Minnesota would bite on a deal that gave them Nic and another lottery pick? Supposedly Cleveland is trying to move Waiters/Thompson for another pick in the top 8. I'm not really sure what the market is for Love right now. Are they expecting to get a superstar? I doubt they'll get it. They lost a lot of leverage when he basically said to trade him or lose him for nothing.
Once again, why would Cleveland trade the# 1 pick for someone who probably would not resign with them?
Crazy? yup. Not a personal attack because you did ask the question in the thread title. Pau Gasol is toast. Kevin Love is an asshole who will command money that will eat up all the cap room and Wiggins hasn't played one NBA game. He could turn out just like Bennet did last year for Cleveland.
Aldridge can't afford to leave that much money on the table, because he sure as fuck isn't getting it anywhere else. Who else can afford to give him 100+ million next summer?
Didn't Lebron leave money on the table when left Cleveland. I would put the odds at less than 50% that he would play his next 6 years in Cleveland. So I guess there is a chance, but I would bet you any amount of money he wouldn't do it.
LeBron can leave money on the table (although he didn't. They did a sign-and-trade). LeBron makes so much money in endorsements. What endorsements does Aldridge have? He's a three time All-Star and the best he can do is Wilsonville Toyota?
I love trade ideas more than most, but I really think stability and loyalty are underrated by many. There's a thing called the salary cap.... Trades have to be desirable for both teams... I see this is the OPs first post. Perhaps a little more lurking....
If Cleveland were able to facilitate a trade for LMA - and retain him, it would put them in a great position for the Lebron sweepstakes next summer. Gramps...
Technically LeBron has never had a Max contract in his career. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...s-paycheck-really-the-sacrifice-he-says-it-is But obviously No state income tax in Florida makes a huge difference. As it does in LMA's home state of Texas. LMA may not get the big endorsements that others get, but he also does not exactly come across as as someone who really cares. The dude is going to make well over a 100 million in his career regardless where he plays. There is no way in hell he would give the Cav's any assurance that he would resign with them. And after playing with them for only one year and having no ties to the community.......no way he stays another 5. I can't believe anyone believes he would.
