I find it just strange as hell that people will blame the gun in this case and other cases like this.

Kids get into everything? Bull shit, kids only get into what they can when alone long enough. Feral children make very bad citizens, the village is not equipped to always handle the unattended child, they need fathers that want them and help them daily. The job is larger than showing them how to handle a gun, it also includes tutoring in not using the gun, knife or any other weapon.

Do you spend most of your retired time searching for people talking about getting rid of guns? Then Shitting your pants about it?

I'm all for guns, but good god man.

I have guns, I enjoy shooting and like knowing I have them just in case the future turns very sour. However, I don't love guns, I am not obsessed with guns. There is nothing particularly wrong with someone who is a fan of guns like I'm a fan of the Blazers, but I just don't think I would want to be around them, and I'd always be worried something was seriously wrong with them. This may be illogical, but "gun nuts" freak me out, even though I like shooting myself.

Did you keep guns in the house when your children were living with you? If yes, if really determined could they have gotten access to them? If someone was robbing you in your driveway could your son have gotten the gun to defend you?

Shooting yourself would classify you as a "gun nut". Also a pain freak and pretty much just fucking crazy.

You said you'd be happy to answer questions. I asked before, and you ignored. Do you use one of those talk to type thingies? Like you speak and it types for you?

No, but I do quite often type asynchronously while doing another task.

I don't think asynchronously is the term you're looking for.

There's plenty of hope, unless too many take that defeatist attitude

You may be anti-guns and that is your right, but if someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night the first thing you're gonna do is call someone with a gun to come and save you. And even the most godless of heathens out there are gonna pray that they make it in time :smiley-wink:

3/4ths required to ratify a change to the 2nd amendment. 38 states. Good luck with that.

If you think the 2nd is somehow antiquated and should be changed by some other process, what happens when they go after the 1st?

You get in trouble for yelling fire in a theater, you can't yell bomb n an airport. THere's freedom of the press, but what about libel?

You go to jail for shooting people.

On the other hand, it's probably not a good idea to remove peoples' vocal chords so they can't yell "fire," or shut down the newspapers to prevent libel.

Murder has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment.

    Very good!

You get in trouble for shooting your neighbor's horse, or a stop sign on the side of the road.
