I get what Denny is saying. Since you can't say exactly how many cigarettes will cause cancer then cigarettes don't cause cancer.
Yeah, my step-dad ended up with lung cancer, and never smoked a day in his life. Also, not all people who smoke cigarettes get cancer. So, what was Sly saying?
There was global cooling and warming on the planet before humans ever existed. People get cancer without ever smoking. Therefore humans can't cause global warming and cigarettes don't cause cancer.
When it comes to cancer, we can have control groups - people who don't smoke. There is no control group to determine how much the CO2 that man creates adds to global warming.
Again we agree. Until we find an exact duplicate of Earth but one that doesn't have any humans on it it's impossible to prove that humans cause global warming. Until we find that we shouldn't do anything. Logic!
Until AGW is undeniably proven, we agree again. Raising energy prices in order to move to new sources of energy hurts the poor in this country, and the world, more than any other group of people. But, at least companies like Solyndra get $30m in bonuses for their executives before going tits up due to the fact nobody can afford to purchase solar panels.
Exactly! I'm happy to risk the future of your children to prevent current poor people from being hurt by higher fuel prices.
Like cigarettes, at some point it is going to be undeniable by all. I just hope the impact is not too severe by that time.
Me too, especially since the science isn't there to call AGW a fact, so we have no idea what risk, if any, is in the future! We do know that raising energy prices in the name of AGW does impact billinos of people right now worldwide, though. We agree again! We should do this more often.
