When Parker retires( I think he will retire early, on the fence about what spurs do next season) is Patty Mills going to take over as the constantly underrated, always crafty point guard in San Antonio?

I feel like Mills could absorb a lot of what TP could teach and mirror his game pretty well.

If the spurs let him go I would love to have him back. We all know PA doesn't like the past but this would be something that would have to be explored. Worst case for us - Patty Mills is a a younger mo williams in his prime.

Mills averaged 1.8 assists last year. He helps the Spurs with 3pt shooting and towel waving from the bench. He is not their pg of the future.

But I do think a team will hilariously overpay him this off season.

And Mo is a much better player than Mills will ever be.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Patty Mills but some people are completely overvaluing him.

Yeah, but he does have a role, but only when he's the 8th or 9th option on a title team. That's his ceiling, and Pop once again made the right call.

PM could always shoot. It's his defense that was the problem.
He's improved there with hustling but will always be a liability on the defensive side of the ball.
He's a younger JJ Berea. Can effect the game positively... Can effect it negatively... But is not a 6th man type player.

But he performed his role amazingly last season with the Spurs... He could go cold like marco belinelli did and end up on the bench next year though...

But no I don't think PM is a starting PG for the Spurs ever.(besides spot duty for injury issues.)

Mills continues to get PT, he will be ready for that torch. The guy is a good player and with Pop's coaching....yah baby
